We stayed here for 3 nights and had a room on the top floor. It took a couple of minutes to find the place as it is tucked away in an alley behind two gates, however the location is excellent close to old town (300m). The staff was super friendly and available 24/7. Our room was small but cosy and clean. Neither the house nor the decoration were modern but for me that was the best part as the atmosphere was unique! The shower had good water pressure and the AC worked excellently however was a bit noisy. The location was also quite quiet. Breakfast was served in the basement and there was a lovely lady preparing omelettes and Bosnian coffee at request. The only thing that bothered us was that there was no blinds in the ceiling windows. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend!

We loved our stay at this quaint B&B. We took the bus near the airport and this bus stops just about 2 mins away from Kandilj. It's located among the residential area but just about 2-3 mins walk out and you are among shops. It is also near to the old town. We were given a warm welcome and shown to our room by the staff. Room was simple, cosy and clean. Breakfast was filling and ended with bosnian coffee. You can help yourself to the coffee and tea anytime. Staffs were helpful and provided us with good info. We also used them for transportation to Jahorina. Overall it was a great stay.

Overall, this is a fine property. I had terrible experience with the WiFi, so that really colored my experience.
If the hotel WiFi is not an issue for you,
you should be very happy here.
The location is good. The accompanying breakfast is fine. Not
fantastic, but more than adequate.
To the left as you exit, about 100m is a
terrific store named Amko.
This town totally closes on Sunday.
I stayed 8 days = far too long! 3 days
is the maximum needed.
It’s anywhere from 25-40 minutes drive to the airport.
I highly recommend taking the cable car up Trebevic Mountain and hiking at the top.
The receptionist Linda is terrific.

When in Sarajevo, I recommend Hotel Kandilj. It's small and quiet but just a five-minute walk from the hubbub of old city Sarajevo. The staff accommodated our need to store luggage as we hiked for a week between stays. No need to stay at a glassy, fancy hotel in the shopping district. This place seems just right.

The Kandilj Pension was an excellent place to stay for our one night stay in Sarajevo. It is situated within easy walking distance of the old town and provides a healthy breakfast with excellent omelettes. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and functional. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I would happily stay there again.

Actually, it was in 2013 that I first stayed at the Kandiji and I loved it so much that I'm going back again in July 2016. This will probably be my last trip to Sarajevo but I've been so fortunate to have visited many times. I just wish I'd found the Kandiji before. All the staff members are so helpful and do everything they can to make you feel welcome. I know that when I leave Sarajevo, a little piece of my heart will remain there. To everyone at Kandiji, I wish love, peace, health and prosperity.

What a beautiful little guesthouse! I can't say enough good things about Kandilj.

It's located just a five minute walk from Bascarsija (Old Town) and a good fifteen from the new town, with really easy access to both (via the Latin Bridge!). It's slight removal from the hubbub of the Old Town make it a pleasant escape from the crowds and the noise. The rooms were well-maintained, airy and large. Breakfast is provided and the staff speak English and are very helpful with tourism requests and information. There is also a quiet little courtyard which is beautiful in the sun.

As for safety, the front gate is only accessible to hotel guests and I didn't have any problems in the area.

If you're looking for a more traditional stay than your average Euro hotel/hostel at an accessible price and in a convenient location, look no further.

We spent 3 days in Sarajevo: me,my boyfriend and my son (3 years old). We booked in this b&b. In a super good position...only 3 minutes by walk to the historical centre. If you arrive in sarajevo by plane you can take bus no. 103 to reach the b&b. From the stop station only 2 minutes by walk...staff and breakfast very very good and also the room. Spacious, with tv and enough clean. Go.and try it!!!

We stayed here three nights and really enjoyed it. The property is just a couple of minutes walk from the river and the Latina Bridge and the Old Town. Perfect location.

The room was comfortable with ensuite facilities. The breakfast provided was really good. Cereals, yoghurt, coffee, fruit, bread, cheese, fruit juice etc. Then the lady who cooks there asked us each morning if we wanted omelette and it was delicious. One morning there was a type of poppy seed roll cake. Never had it before but it was really good.

The people who run the property were all very helpful and friendly. They gave us a free transfer from the bus station and arranged a taxi for us on our return.

Sarajevo itself is such an interesting place to visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

We can recommend the tours from "Insider" which leave from just across the river near the Latin Bridge. We did the 3 hour tour "Times of Misfortune" and it was fantastic.

Because the property is in such a good location we were able to walk almost everywhere. Only a few minutes to walk to the Old Town where there are lots of restaurants and then all the sights are not far from here.

We can recommend Kandilj Pension and will return here.

Staff was great. Kind enough to upgrade us to the bigger apartment. The apartment is tastefully decorated, well heated and has great views.

Breakfast was nice, with hot food available. Location was close to old town, good for exploration.
