There are so many things I loved about my stay at Hostel Kucha in Sarajevo:
• Really comfortable beds with all bedding included.
• Large lockers for your stuff and they’ll lend you a padlock during your stay if you need it.
• Each bed has a reading lamp and powerpoint.
• It's a really clean hostel – they clean every day and if you stay a while you can ask for a fresh towel and fresh bedding during your stay.
• Great kitchen and cooking facilities – they have a full sized fridge, 4 burner stove, and an oven so you can prep your own food during your stay.
• A lovely outdoor terrace.
• Excellent WIFI.
• Fantastic local knowledge – they give you a list of restaurant and sightseeing suggestions when you check in and are really happy to help you get the most out of your time in Sarajevo.
• Excellent knowledge of Bosnia i Herzegovina in general and they're really happy to help with information about onward travel, buses, trains, places to stay in other parts of Bosnia or beyond, and they'll book you a taxi if you need one so you get charged an appropriate fare.
• The owner and staff are so kind, friendly and helpful. I injured myself in the Old Town while staying in Sarajevo and everyone at the hostel was amazing in helping me.
• Sometimes the hostel owner makes waffles or banana bread, or puts out fruit for everyone to enjoy.
• It’s not a party hostel. Hostel Kucha has a comfortable, home away from home vibe (which I really like).
Local info that might be helpful:
• There’s a small supermarket next door, a fruit and veg store and 2 other small grocery stores within a 1-minute walk, and 2 larger supermarkets within a 5 minute walk.
• There’s a bus you can catch from ‘Bus Stop Kosevo Street’ on Ulica Koševo near the corner of Maršala Tita (near the Aria Shopping Centre) towards the hostel. If you ask on the bus for the “Studenski Dom” stop it’ll drop you near Hostel Kucha.
I stayed in both a 4 bed and 5 bed dorm during my stay. Both were great and there was air-conditioning in both rooms.

Let me start by saying how much I loved this hostel! I stayed in a female dorm and met some really lovely ladies that made my stay in beautiful Bosnia & Herzegovina that much more enjoyable. The staff was very kind, the rooms and bathrooms were clean, and the overall vibe of the hostel was really nice. The night before my departure, there was a brand new staff member working the desk who wasn't sure how to book a taxi. My only suggestion would be to make sure new staff have all the information they need other than that, this place was just about perfect. If you plan on walking, be prepared for a bit of a work out as it's at the top of one of Sarajevo's famous hills, but don't let that deter you! This hostel is really fabulous!

What can I say that hasn't already been said?
The hostel is absolutely spotless from top to bottom.
The showers are hot with good pressure.
The beds are comfy and they have huge lockers and offer free locks.
There is a lovely patio area with tables that would be fabulous in the Summer time.
A fully equipped kitchen/dining area, complete with comfy couches, plasma tv and most importantly Robbie Shark, the unofficial Carnivorous Kucha mascot.
The breakfast is amazing. My personal favourite breakfast was Easter morning, it was a plethora of food, painted boiled eggs, baklava and a medley of other Bosnian desserts. Most days Jeleela makes anything from homemade cornbread, to muffins and plenty more in between.
The walk up the hill to the hostel has some of the best views of the city, and is actually a pleasant experience.
There are four supermarkets, a fruit and veg shop, a butchers and numerous fast food places less than two minutes from the hostel.
The hostel itself has all the amenities you could ever want,
including parking spaces.
So if this is your stop off point on a long trip around the Balkans, its the perfect place to just be lazy for a few days and hang out in the hostel.
Most importantly though, the staff are the nicest you'll ever meet. Stefan has a fantastically sarcastic sense of humour and Jeleela (I'm sorry I can't spell your name right) is such a lovely woman, they both really looked after us in any way they could and made us feel at home for our entire stay in Kucha.
We'll definetely be back in Sarajevo just to stay here again.

The hostel is brand new, the owner Sheila cares about her hosts and makes them feel at home. Clean, modern, with a cosy terrace where to have breakfast (homemade by Sheila) and meet people. Only 10 minutes walking from the city centre, you can park your car in the hostel. I definitely recommend this hostel and will come back for sure.

I travelled 7 weeks through the balkan region and I visited Sarajevo and Hostel Kucha 3 times. I stayed there total 2 weeks cause I just fell in love with the city and the whole kucha crew. The hostel is clean, new and the most important: the people there are just great, the breakfast is a great opportunity to meet other travellers and in the evening you can meet in the kitchen to cook or just chat.
Best Hostel I have been to in the Balkans!

the hostel itself is very modern and clean, and they are generous about towels, help, directon etc. they are flexible though i would suggest calling ahead if you plan to park your car...
i would love to come back and i hope very much that i do. if i do, then i have no doubts about where i will be staying.
