One of the best hostels I've stayed in, (I'm a musician and I travel on a tiny budget a lot). The building itself has large airy rooms and good toilet & shower facilities, but the best feature is the massive garden which has room to be social, or to just be alone and quiet. The staff are fantastic and the hostel is very well run. My compliments to Ilir and the team, I shall definitely be back.
I spent a few nights here and can recommend it. I was traveling solo and stayed in a private room with shared bathroom, which was an excellent value. The place is in an old house and has a real hippy, cozy vibe to it. Every one who worked there was so nice. It was a little cold in the evening to enjoy it, but there is a nice courtyard for hanging out and indoor common areas as well. The wifi is good. The bathrooms are clean and have hot water. My room was basic, but comfortable. (I mean, the bed was hard, but I wasn't bothered by it.) It was chilly, but there were space heaters and lots of cozy blankets. The location is excellent and is a short walk to everywhere you would want to go. I would definitely stay there again,
I booked 3 nights at Tirana Backpacker Hostel and ended up staying for more than 1 month. The place is indeed huge with an amazing garden with paintings on the walls (mostly from guests), sofas and everything you need to chill. The dorms are simple and perfect with comfortable beds and lockers and I would say they match with the atmosphere of the place: there's all the basic services you need, plenty of common space also, and everything you need is so easy to get. For some reasons this place also attracts mature type of travelers with very incredible talents, stories to tell, and always ready to share anything. As an introvert traveler, I've never felt so comfortable staying in the comon areas chilling out with people. There is really a great vibe of playing music together (even if you've never played), cooking together, having a drink together - or not if you just feel like having a quiet evening with yourself. Ilir the owner, Renato, Resi and the volunteers (which I was part of for 1.5 week) were not only friendly, they also all have that very humanist philosophy that makes you feel comfortable and at the right place all the time. Riza the dog is also part of the crew and always brings a lot of joy (and laugh sometimes!) and she comes to meet us in the common areas. The idea of "cultural exchange" here makes its best sense. Tirana Backpacker Hostel is really more than a classic hostel, it just catches the essence of what any hostel and human interaction should be. Thank you for the stay, will be back for sure!…
This hostel is clean and tidy. Our flight from Rome got cancelled so we couldn’t make it to the first night that we’ve booked. The hostel didn’t charge us. We only had to pay for the one night that we did stay. There is free breakfast included. The facility is clean. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable. They let us store our luggages for 2 weeks when we go hiking free of charge. The hostel is located very close to the main square and to the city center. I would definitely stay here again.
The hostel is lovely: the way it's decorated, the spaciousness of the rooms, the common areas, the garden, staff and volunteers, and the great vegan (friendly) dinners at night. Most visitors talk to each other and I think almost everyone will feel welcome there. And they have a dog!
Approachable, helpful staff, excellent value for money, lovely big garden area with seating and a bar that's being built. The dorm beds have their own individual lights and plug sockets. Dinner is on offer at 7.30pm for 2 euros or 250 lek, the portions are big and it's delicious (remember to sign up before 5pm). Breakfast is included. Laundry service available. Toilets and showers are nice and clean. I recommend and would return! The only negative point is there a resident dog.
I stayed in this hostel for the recent Wales football match. The hostel has a resident dog, so if you don't like/allergic to dogs, it's something to be aware of. The room I was in was fine. Not many plug sockets available, but I managed fine. The WiFi was good and the showers and toilets were always clean. They don't have a card payment system, so best to have enough Euros or Leks available.
Was an awesome and charming place. Excellent! Was friendly. And very cosy. Awesome. Yes, it was a whale of a place to stay. I also like the airport and prima, awesome place. Nice beds, nice room, clean.
Really the best place to stay in Albania for backpackers, travellers, and anyone looking for adventure. Bar outside is amazing and has a great feel (have spent entire afternoons lounging out there, meeting people and drinking Albanian spirits). So many interesting travellers are coming through here all the time so it's a great place to connect, have fun, and even find buddies to travel with. Staff are extremely knowledge regarding the country and do's/dont's for the country. The rooms and linen are clean. The owner Ilir is one of the most wonderful human beings I have ever met. And, the hostel that he has his friends and family have build is extraordinary. The day trips are also great and a very good history lesson and culinary tour as well as day hike and swim.
I've stayed in this hostel for two days and must stay that it was a pleasure. Simple but tasty breakfast. Very gentle people, with an adorable puppy. Not that they can do a lot about it, but after 11pm it has to be quiet.
