By most standards this hotel delivered. It was comfortable and clean, staff were very formal and i could not get a smile out of them. ROoms have basic amenities. I would stay here again as there was lots to do in and around the premises.

Visited here on the off chance when our car had a puncture, It was such an improvement on the Koryo Hotel where we were staying and which we had been told was the best in the city, that we got our guide to change it for us. We were told the Pothonggang Hotel had recently been renovated so maybe it...

This 5-star hotel is well located in town and offers all the comforts without the big brand names of international chains. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. All the expected amenities are included. Staff are very helpful and courteous. Good gym and the food here is amazing! A fantastic selection.

Stayed here altogether three nights during our private tour in the DPRK, hotel reminded me of former USSR hotels in major Eastern European cities. Clean, good service, hard beds and you have the feeling your are "under watch" all the time. All in all in case I would be going back no reason not to stay again.

Let's face it: if you are travelling in the DPRK you are there because you are fascinated by the country, its people and history. You are not going expecting Western luxury. With that in mind this hotel is a welcome surprise. Considered to the best in the DPRK, initial impressions are of a 1970s Moscow Intourist hotel: lots of marble,...

This lovely hotel has the most lovely and charming staff who makes your breakfast, coffee and dinner to a nice time to remember with a smile! Lovely, to say it in a short way. And a lot of international TV-channels and telephone connections available.

I spent three nights in this hotel and they were all the same. The TV has on the same show of the leader saying something in Korean. Change the channel and its the same show just a little earlier or later depending on what channel you're tuned into. There is a bar but they don't really understand exchanging money for...

Arrived in Pyongyang end October for a business trip. Stayed in Pothonggang hotel as it name implies this is a Normal no frills business hotel. Styled in the 70s this Pinkish 9 storey building sits on a hill top over looking the Pothonggang river where the hotel is name after. There are no shops, convenience stores or cafes around the...

I thought the available facilities were quite good considering the location and the situation. Local Food was very good especially the bread. Please note the hand sewn tapestry on the wall of the conference hall. The craft and paintings are amazing.
