The value of time is the first and foremost gift that the Marquesas offers to travellers. Located in a manificent tropical garden, the Keikahanui Nuku Hiva Pearl Lodge overlooks the bay and village of Taiohae and the black sandy beach lying 50 steps below. Each bungalow are built with local materials and each of them have carvings by a different artist from the Marquesas Islands. Appreciate this typical atmosphere found in the Marquesas with modern comforts.

I do not recommend eating here unless you do not have to be anywhere else within two hours of sitting down. Drink menu good, scenery great. The food is good but not exceptional. We were given the dinner menu by mistake, and not the lunch menu. Surprisingly, the restaurant

We are a gay couple in our 40s. Nuku Hiva is truly special and we highly recommend it over Bora Boring. The accomodations are really good, unexpectedly comfortable for a remote island. All the necessary and customary comforts are here. We cried a little when we saw the view

If you arrive on Nuku Hiva by cruise ship, you likely do not have friends or acquaintances there, and you only have a glimmer of an idea as to what you might do there for your day-long visit. Our advice is to follow whatever your plan might be – a 4X4 tour (not our style), or

Hi, Are there accessible fringe reefs on the island for snorkeling?
Greetings fromNuku Hiva and thank for your request. We don't have lagoon in the Marquesas and it's not the best place for snorkeling. We have a place "Anaho beach" for snorkeling and located at 40km from the hotel. But we have a lot of place for the Maori's culture and hiking. I stay at your disposal for any further information. Best Regards Nathalie VOLLE - General Manager

Sand fleas on the beach? What's this all about?
Very few sand fleas on the beach and with monoi or insect repellent is not a problem. We don't have this problem at the hotel. Best regards

"Would suggest a room a bit further from the lobby/restaurant area"
"pay extra for a premium view -- it's worth it. (Bungalows 16 and 17)"
"close to restaurant with ocean view."
"All rooms are bungalows facing Taiohae bay. As far as I could tell, they are all about the same type and quality, and have the same view."
