I've been in Fiji for nearly 6 months now and I have been to south seas about 10 times for a night or two when I'm in Suva. It is the cheapest place around! It has everything you need - kitchen, washing facility, hot showers, common room and sleeping dorms. It also has security every night on guard so it's...

very budget place, but totally fine for what you pay (only $50 a night for a double). Bed was pretty hard, as was the pillow, but can't complain for what you're paying. Easy walking distance in to town too, and Suva museum is a 5 min walk down the road

We stayed here for three nights in Suva and it was a good base. The facilities are really good, amazing kitchen and eating space. The rooms were very clean and there was a tv room to hang out in. It was a really good base for us to explore Suva, on the 15 minute walk into town you passed a...

We stayed one night in the "deluxe" room, which has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom. Good points: - The hotel itself is truly charming, with its shiny wooden floors, lovely little garden and lots of character. - I enjoyed the location, a little bit out of town but still within 5 to 20 minutes walking distance, depending on...

It is cheap but for a reason. You have to pay a deposit for everything - even $1 for a knife and $1 for a fork to use in the kitchen. Don't stay in Room 31 as it backs on to the toilet block and you can hear everything! And I mean everything! There is a window above the room's...

Stayed there in 1994 and again in June 2014: excellent stay both times. Both times I stayed in the "deluxe" room with the double bed (this time with a rollaway bed added) and en suite bath. Good value, vintage charm. The good: - clean - very close to the Fiji Museum in Thurston Park, Albert Park (to catch a local...

Set on a leafy back street one block above Albert Park, the long running South Seas Private Hotel is a peculiar establishment. Austere, sleepy, more like a no frills boarding school than a hotel, it appears frozen in time. It is! The reception is behind bars. But the wooden hotel is clean, functional and well managed. In the evening guests...

I stayed 3nights in a door, the hotel is good looking but the common bathroom is only one toilet and one shower upstairs (which are locking with great difficulty!) and 2 downstairs but because we were real few in the hotel it was fine. The real problem is there is no electrical plug in the room and just one bathroom...

The building is amazingly well-maintained for its age, and everything was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed walking into town and to the museum from this convenient location, and our room (#38) was very quiet, well-ventilated, and had a nice view of trees and shrubs. The bed was a bit hard. The front office charges a refundable deposit for items like towels...

I was only in Suva for one week and had to stay within a tight budget. I opted for a private room which gave me separate toilet and bath. The room was clean, sheets were changed daily, there was no aircon but the overhead fan worked fine though it could be hot closer to the summer season. The Staff are...
