Classic Backpackers. Great way to meet people. Shared bathrooms are clean and good. We stayed in room with 12 beds and it was sweet! Everyone is always nice and staff are funny ! Monday Kava nights are a must. They run some nights to get people together and it’s so nice to see and be involved in. We went out to the club with everyone and it being my first night there I felt so safe staying with them all getting there and back too
I decided to stop in Fiji on my way to New Zealand and didn’t plan too much. Bamboo backpackers was the best place to start. Very nice place, kind and helpful staff and great people to meet. I stayed first in the eight people dorm which has four bunker beds and after returning from Mana island I stayed in the six people dorm which was also very nice since every person had his own capsule so it was like a small private room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I want to say a special thanks to Mary who took her time and helped me find the places I should go to according to what I wanted to do while in Fiji. She also helped me get really good prices and saved me from a con woman! The bar right by the beach was also a really close and nice place to go to each evening to get dinner, have some drinks and meet other travelers.. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get to Fiji and plan the rest of they’re stay while there. I guess the only alternative for backpackers is smugglers cove but I had a few people staying there tell me they regret not staying at bamboo. Had a great time, exactly the vacation I needed!!…
Location is amazing it’s a 1 minute walk to the beach front but even from the lodge you can catch amazing views and see some good sets 🌞 will definitely be back when I return to fiji - the team always go above and beyond which never goes under appreciated great value for your money. Would definitely recommend if you’re going to be staying in wailoaloa // Nadi , not to mention it’s amazing for solo travellers as well as you get to meet amazing people along the way - Vinaka guys 🫶🏾
Bamboo Backpackers was great value for money, affordable with extremely friendly and accommodating staff, very helpful for ordering taxis when we needed them. In a good location near many other hotel/backpacker/resorts which all bars/restaurants to go to (except for bamboo) but that was ok to venture out. The rooms were simple, clean and some with AC and fans (pay a bit extra but it's worth it). Overall, Bamboo was a great backpacker to stay in on our adventurous Fijian holiday.
Enrico is the best! Bring back the bamboo vibes! Thank you to all the stuff for everything. And special thanks to Enrico, he’s the man! Very generous and friendly, really really appreciate having met him! Vinaka guys
Stayed at Bamboo for a week while I was in Fiji. The location is great, right by the beach club. The staff were all very friendly and will go out of their way to help you with anything you need. I stayed in the pod dorm and it was great. Meri helped me book the shark dive that I wanted to do and it was EPIC!!
I wish I could give this a 5 star for service (Aggie, you are amazing) But apart from this I felt a bit let down. Mostly because on the booking sites it falsely advertises the facilities the backpackers offer. There was no free airport drop off or pick up, no organised activities, activities board or kava evenings. The wifi in our room was a 1/10 (on a good day) if you sat by the door and held your phone in the right position. The wifi was better down in the lobby but not all rooms have it. There is no bar, restaurant or kitchen at the accommodation. Also no pool table, ping pong table, volleyball net or other such entertainment at the hostel itself. Another niggle we had is that there was no room service. We had a private double room and so after 8 nights there we had about half the beach on the floor and also in our beds as an exfoliant. I know COVID has been tough for everyone, especially the tourist industry but the lack of activities that had been advertised online was disappointing. The general facilities at the backpackers were pretty minimal too. There was no jug/kettle (RIP 2 minute noodles), no communal fridge, no utensils or bowls etc. the bathrooms were shared which was as advertised and were clean. However, there was only one shower to about 3 rooms so it was often taken and the water was cool which isn’t a problem in summer and all part of a backpackers. From reading all the old reviews it sounds like this place was once a part of what is now the “beach club” which is the a seperate beach front bar and restaurant. Essentially, this is a place to sleep and meet other travellers. I would give it a better rating if it was truely advertised as a place to sleep and adventure out from but felt a bit mislead that it was going to provide free airport transport, activities and a place to eat/drink. The staff and people are great and the pool there is pretty nice for a dip too! Great location to the beach. Bula baby!!…
if you’re looking for a nice place to stay without braking your bank account over to do so this is the place to go! location is great, the hostel itself doesn’t have a kitchen but loads of nice affordable restaurants around to choose from and town is a small drive away or if you’re like us a good 45 min walk. there’s a pool, airconditioning in the rooms and if your lucky like I was you get some nice coconut’s for desert as well. But THE ABSOLUTE BEST Part of this place is the staff. they really do make it feel like a home. thank you Aggie, Mary, mateo, peter and all the other staff for giving the place and the people that come through the love they deserve! I don’t know when but I’ll will be back vinaka Nynke
The hostel facilities are very good. It has two showers, two toilets and washbasins outside. A swimming pool, many chairs and tables to eat and an area with sofas and wifi. The best of all is the team that works there, they are always attentive to you, they recommend very good places and not only that, but they help you to book it and they have always had solutions to our needs. The only thing is that there is no fridge or kitchen to eat, but next door there are several places to eat and dine that are very good and there are always offers (drink or food) and there is also a supermarket nearby. Thanks for making us feel at home! (the spanish girls!)
Great people and great location! Lockers in rooms, aircon, comfortable mattresses, my dorm’s door only locked from the inside but regardless I still felt quite safe. Plenty of electrical sockets to charge devices. No kitchen so you need to eat out. Clean pool available. Showers and toilets are located outside, they’re not bad, but don’t expect anything fancy, sometimes you’ll go in and realise there’s no toilet paper for example but again not the worst thing in the world by any means. Very friendly and informative staff, who will help you organise trips and activities around Fiji. Very easy to socialise and meet people. This was a lovely hostel to stay at, it was clean and had a friendly atmosphere, and at the end of the day it’s a hostel not a hotel so you get what you pay for and I was very satisfied with my experience there.…
