This 4-star hotel was contracted by the organization that invited me. On arrival my reservation was recognized but when I asked if indeed there was an non-smoking room available, the answer was "No Sir". I was surprised and asked if one would become available when I waited because I checked in early. "No Sir". "We don't have non-smoking rooms". What??????...

Good afternoon: Mr. Richard Nap Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. First of all I internalized about your particular case. The hotel does not have non-smoking rooms, as there is no legislation requiring these rooms have. However he was offered one of the most comfortable, spacious and comfortable hotel rooms, but I have understood...

I had a quick AM stay at the hotel from 08:00 to 15:15. Had a spectacular breakfast, so much to choose from. I really liked the sweet biscuits and treats available. Definitely my way of breakfast. The room was OK, very noisy,so much talking of the cleaners and they don't talk softly. Walls are paper thin. The bath was chipped...

I was happy to stay at the Embajador hotel in Montevideo. Although not recently renovated, the room was large, clean an comfortable. We had everything that was needed. Decorated a bit in old styled, we found the building pleasant. It is located closed to the center and you can visit the center by foot. very convenient at the end of...

We were in Montevideo to ship an over-lander vehicle back to the US and went into the Embajador partly for the free parking. We ended up staying there a couple times and they let us store a bunch of equipment and surfboards for 10 days before we flew back home. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The internet was...

The best hotel I stayed in Montevideo. Staff does not always speak in English but Portuguese is ok for them. Breakfast is good, but could have more fruits. Dulce de leche is amazing. There is a pool on the terrace but it is a ways so windy that you are probably not using it.

Spent two nights in two separate rooms. The first drank with cigarette smoke, the second room was much better. Fairly dated but comfortable. Polite staff and excellent breakfast. Close to shops and restaurants, and good internet. Avoid rooms near the elevators

We stayed here for a night and were not impressed. The room smelled of smoke, the furnishings were dated, we needed to wear earplugs to sleep because of the street noise. On the plus side, the staff were very helpful, and the rooftop deck and patio have nice views of the sunset. The location is within walking distance of the...

Checked in here at 9am after a disastrous night at the Lancaster. We were greeted very sympathetically after we explained why we were so early. Given a room which was very comfortable in all respects and the breakfast next morning was good. The additional bonus was a bath - on of the few we encountered on our 3 week trip...

The rooms STANK. Seems every room is smoking or has been really run down and tired rooms. pretty noisy, we actually opted for this hotel after seeing the small rooms in the hotel california across the road. We paid a reasonable amount, but wouldnt pay more than what we did ($70US double room Superior?!) Would hate to see a standard...

Spent 5 nights at Embajojador in December 2012. Good location near numerous restaurants, nice front desk personnel. Rooms where good but a significant amount of street noise. Breakfast was enjoyable and satisfying. Gym and pool where not worth mentioning or worth using. I would return to Embajador.

“The hotel has two areas, around two separate lift shafts. I stayed in the rear area, perhaps the darker one. The front shaft leads to rooms that lead to the streets. So the rooms should be a lot brighter there, but probably also noisier”
