I stayed there at least on 5 occasions and really sorry to see the overall experience getting poorer, not at the level of a Sofitel. In my more recent experience first reception was a bit disappointing, I did not like to be hosted at 130 pm with a « check in is at 2 pm but your room is ready » then there was no replacement of water nor any sign of welcome in my room for a week stay, cleaning was average. Breakfast is nice but under staff ,so you better be patient if you want eggs our style, finally and as a French person for a French brand I found shocking, the coffer was purely discussing and any alternative charged extra

The hotel and casino are a grand imposing structure. The front desk was helpful. A real varied experience at their fine dining restaurant. Dinner was excellent with great service. Breakfast was good but service was brutal. We had to involve the front desk in order to get someone to take our order. An odd issue was the never ending renewal of our room key fobs. i replaced room keys 5 times in 24 hours. And there was a constant stream of guests having the same experience. The font desk acknowledged the issue and said they had been assured the problem was to be addressed "in 2023." Turn down service was disappointing for the most part. The fitness centre was small and dated. i broke a cable on their only cable machine. This hotel does not meet Sofitel standards in our opinion. Jim and Sharon Canada …

We expected so much more from this hotel, given the excellent reviews from previous travellers. Overall, the hotel has been quite a disappointment. When we arrived, the staff watched us struggle with our bags to reception while chatting with each other. There was a dreadful smell from the drain in the toilet and the shower and sink in the bathroom were mouldy. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable, and it was great to have a room that faced the ocean, where we could open the window. Breakfast is great, however, it is meant to start at 7am. On our departure day there was very little available at 7, they are clearly not organised for a 7am start. No hot food, no bread, no croissant until 7:20, very poor when you have a pick up at 7:30 and thought you had plenty of time for a delightful breakfast! The hotel is at least 25 minutes from the old downtown area of Montevideo, do yourself a favour and book somewhere closer to downtown.…

Beautiful hotel, friendly, helpful staff who cannot do enough to make your stay perfect. Mikayla made check in a breeze. Sebastião warmly settled us into our room as if we were a guest in his own home. We ordered room service that first day after a long day of travel. The food was delicious and Damian, the delightful young man who delivered it, could not have been more accommodating or friendly. The location is perfect, lovely views of the river. Just perfect.

We had a wonderful visit. The rooms were aesthetically modern with nice view. The breakfast buffet had an abundance of protein, breads, cakes, pastries and views of the water. Elegant ambiance and excellent pan de chocolat. The spa area was soothing and an relaxing sauna. The casino was limited but a fun experience. We enjoyed the roulette. The location on the beach was beautiful with easy access to the Rambla. The surrounding neighborhood had some fine restaurants. We here during the World Cup and the hotel had a special viewing area established. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had an easy time getting to the city by Uber. We would gladly return. We would recommend taking a wine tour to the nearby countryside

Had to do some business in Montevideo and stayed only a few nights. Was upgraded to a gorgeous suite with one of the nicest views of the beach. was a hot 36 Celsius and when rooms are that big, i find air conditioning never works. the room was perfect temperature. Amazing breakfast. great location for the beach and the area of Carrasco which has amazing restaurants and was where my meetings were. fast 15 main to the airport. was a real winner. will be back.

nice room (but a bit noisy as there was some sort of a 'do' outside). great staff. wonderful location across from beach and near shops/restaurants. breakfast was excellent. I did not eat lunch or dinner there but supped in a place across the street.
