We stopped here for a night - good location but not in great condition. Bathroom/bedroom clean but everything old and could use a major refresh. Kitchen (especially upstairs) terrible. Staff (especially Andrea) were very nice though. Breakfast terrible!

I stayed only one night in Planet Hostel but in that short time was very impressed by the staff. Reception were friendly and extremely helpful, giving advice about activities and transport. The room, bathroom and common area were clean, the sheets were fresh, the wifi was reliable, and the lockers were big enough for a whole bag. Breakfast was basic... More

We stayed in a twin room shared bathroom which cost us US$55/night. The room was basic but clean. It would have been perfect except that a heat wave was going through Uruguay and there was no fan! It was really hot in our building, but I think the dorms might be air conditioned (there are two buildings that make up... More

We stayed in this hostel for several nights and had an amazing stay. The staff was amazing, super friendly and super helpful! The hostel was clean and the rooms are good (although I had never seen 3-story-beds before). The atmosphere in the hostel is really great and it is nicely decorated. They also have a roof terrace with BBQ. The... More

Stay: 02/2009 I was able to take a bus from the airport into the city and the hostel was w/in walking distance and very easy to locate. The staff was nice, the room was clean and there was warm water to shower. In the morning, there was breakfast (you had to serve yourself though, don't sit and wait for anyone... More

A mixed group of us stayed here for 2 nights on a short trip to Uruguay, such a cool place, the décor is very similar to primary school with posters of planets and stars all over the walls, nice clean rooms and bathrooms, they provide you with lockers and padlocks, nice kitchen and common room, was never a queue for... Unfortunately I only spent one day in Montevideo and it happened to be Sunday. The town seemed to be hit by a nuclear explosion because I literally saw 10 people outside and none of the shops were open during my walk through the bus station to the hostel. Upon arrival we were greeted by one of the staff members (the... More

Planet Hostel is brilliantly positioned in the middle of the triangle of the sea, Centro and the old town. The staff are great - helpful, kind and knowledgeable. The place exudes the same charm that much of Montevideo does.

There are not a lot of places where you can stay to sleep and for having a great time too. In this place I meet a lot of friends that I will never forget, the people were nice and kind. They were always willing to help me if I have problems, helping me to show me the city and everything.... More

The location and the building of the Planet Hostel are great - it's a nice house right in the center of Montevideu. But this first impression fades away as soon as you try to sleep, shower and eat in there. The beds are good and the bathrooms are pretty clean. But that's of little value when you can't sleep because... More
