We stayed at Tambo del Inka after leaving Lima as part of a two-week Peru vacation. This hotel was a great place to first experience the Andes and prepare for Machu Picchu. The location right near the town of Urubamba and the the hotel and grounds were perfect. We had a Junior Suite, with a patio opening right up to the grounds and walkable down to the river. The room was huge and very comfortable. The restaurant was great, and we had both breakfast and dinner there, The indoor/outdoor pool and spa facilities were so beautiful, as well. Staff and services were top notch. Definitely not your typical Marriott!
Tambo del Inka is fabulous hotel. The interior design in simply stunning, we loved the huge main fireplace in the lobby. We arrived late after a long travel day, and were hungry but the restaurant was already closed. The bar stayed open past closing so we could eat, not one time did they make us feel like this was a bother. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. They have a great indoor/outdoor pool which is heated, and a couple of indoor spas. The rooms are beautifully appointed and huge, with great views onto the Andes. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we had on the trip, the quality, variety and service were all excellent. We had a very early departure for the train station on our last day and the hotel had breakfast boxes waiting for us. Overall, this hotel has it all, great design, great food and excellent service. Don't hesitate to book!!…
By far the best Marriott hotel we have EVER stayed at (gold member). We stayed for four nights with a king room with patio as we toured the Sacred Valley. Exceptional from moment we arrived. Concierge desk assisting with our desires to solo tour; team of their private drivers; Manuel the manager of bar spending time to talk with our hiking clothed selves about Pisco Sours and share samples; relaxing in the impressive peaceful ambiance; grounds are magnificent. Leaves us at a loss for words about the common rooms. Breakfast best we have ever had in all our tours. Warm greetings and a true welcome from every person. Exceptional ❤️🇵🇪
What can I say, this place is amazing. We stayed three nights and spent a day touring the area and sites, then came back to some fun local activities (bread making one night, Andean salsa the next). All of the meals were amazing - we did the garden to table excursion - and I wish I would have booked it twice! Delicious meals cooked near the hotel garden with a tour identifying what was grown on property. It was well worth it. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable - the beds are dreamy. The hotel staff is top notch and the service level represents that in every way. I highly recommend staying here - great place to spend the day (massages and spa) for those who forego the tours, and an even better place to start the tours from. Definitely enjoyed every part of our stay.
Excellent hotel. We purchased a package which allowed us to join in some activities organised by the hotel. Andre, the experience manager is very helpful. I joined the “giving thanks to the pacha mama” experience which was wonderful to learn about the spiritual practices of the Inca. It was led by a tour guide who was very knowledgeable and engaging. Would highly recommend.
This whole place is incredible. Giant sprawling rooms and amazing greenery. The hotel pool and sauna are not to be missed. One of the nicest resorts that I’ve stayed in my traveling experience. The only suggestion I have - there is no late night options for food. If you arrive after 10pm there’s no late night room service or other options. Given the lack of options around the resort this was a little surprising.
This hotel is quite simply one of the best hotels we have ever been to. It is so clean and peaceful. The swimming pool was great and so was the breakfast with so much variety. The staff were wonderful. Highly recommended.
Where to start. Tambo del Inka is a destination within a destination. When going to the Sacred Valley, this hotel is the best. The landscape and the architecture is so beautiful and the rooms are super cozy and relaxing. It’s no wonder that is called Tambo since “Tambo” means relax in Quechua. By far the best part of the hotel is it’s staff. Everyone was super nice and helpful. In particular, I must mention Lucila from the dining room staff. We were lucky enough to get her as our waitress on our first night and she taught us so much about the Peruvian and Andean food and Quechua culture. Over the next 3 days, we developed a friendship that I will always cherish. I am looking forward to the day I return to spend more time with Lucy and at the Tambo.
This place provides a complete respite after we hiked the Inka Trail for four days. The spa is incredible - Maria helped to sooth my sore legs after hiking! And Wilbert at the bar took care of everything - from providing food recommendations to friendly conversation. The service at this hotel is 5-star and the beds are super comfy! Hopefully we can come back again the next time we’re in Peru!
We have tried both the Restaurant Hawa and the bar here at Tambo del Inca and have been wowed every time. Breakfast at Hawa offered us so many choices from French toast to yogurt and grains, but their specialty was the Andean quinoas bowl - must try! We got lucky and had Luci as our server for dinner both nights (once at Hawa and once in the bar) and she not only remembered us, but treated us like family! She had so many recommendations for food choice and new all about the ingredients in each dish. 5 stars all the way!
