We stayed in Pakaritampu which is just minutes downhill to the train station to Machu Picchu and perhaps 7 minutes walk slightly uphill to the town. Moto taxis are easily available if you are feeling the altitude. The hotel is beautifully set in gardens full of flowers and enormous hummingbirds. The rooms are large and windows look out onto the...

We stayed for one night on the way to Machu Picchu to acclimatise. It was extremely quiet with perhaps another couple also visiting. We had two rooms in the back building on the left and the rooms were spacious and clean. The wifi only worked in the reception area which was fine. Had dinner and breakfast and both were good...

this hotel was our favorite place where we stayed in Peru. The rooms were comfortable , clean and have views from their windows. The grounds were scenic with the Andes all around the location. The restaurant was a good place to eat. The breakfast was very good with a good choice of fruits, cereal, bread and pastry.

This hotel was pre-booked for us on a tour through Peru. This is probably the best place to stay on your way either in or out of Machu Picchu. It is down the road from the train station. The surrounding area looks rough and basic, but the Pakaritampu is like a small oasis. There are really nice gardens toward the...

Arrived here late in the day, and stayed for 1 night. The hotel seemed a little quiet and we were slightly apprehensive after have an amazing stay in Cusco. We were probably 1 of 3 couples staying in the whole hotel if dinner and breakfast were anything to go by, but we lapped up the tranquility and enjoyed the piece...

Stayed here when we were leaving Machu Picchu on our way back to Cusco. Nice garden area in the courtyard. Lots of good fruit at breakfast. Nice room. Didn't get to enjoy most of the amenities as we spent the bulk of our time repacking. One interesting note is that this hotel is owned by a former Peruvian volleyball player....

It is hard to imagine that the Hotel Pakaritampu is not the number one property in Ollantaytambo. It's just so perfect, in so many ways. And, I've traveled all over Peru for over two decades and stayed at a number of hotels. This place is truly one of the best! From the moment you step off the busy Avenida Ferrocarril...

Stayed here for one night after missing our train to Machupicchu. Really picturesque property! Rooms were clean, comfortable, and well outfitted. Staff: friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast, and good location a stones throw from the train station.

Cannot believe that is a 3 star hotel - the rooms are spacious and have beautiful garden view, the garden itself it a multi-level park more likely, complete with an Alpaca that kept dashing around. The hotel is separated into smaller complexes or houses, each with 2-4 rooms per floor, giving it an elegant and relaxing vibe. We stayed in...
