Wonderful hotel, restaurant, and service. Room #13 was lovely! I highly recommend the 1/2 day tour from Cusco to Olly and the 1/2 day tour from Olly back to Cusco - great way to see Pisac, Maras, Moray, and Salinas. We loved our driver Eloy.

What initially appealed to me, when making the reservation with El Albergue, was essentially the convenience: it is located inside the station where trains go to Machu Picchu. Nonetheless, it turned out to be much more than I had expected. Beyond the nonchalant exterior of the building and the most modest reception and lobby area, it opens to a lushly... More

I recently stayed at El Albergue hotel with 12 other people. Personally I loved the hotel but I was lucky enough to get one of the garden rooms in the back. The rooms overlooking the station platforms are cute and charming but on the older side and if you're sensitive to noise, the trains run until midnight, but they do... More

Walk out the door of the El Albergue for your trip up to Machu Picchu and the tracks are 10 feet in front of you. No waiting behind the bars of the station or being there 30 minutes before. Just exit the hotel and enter the train. Rooms are Spartan but clean, breakfast is utilitarian, but dinner is very good... More

We took a taxi from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. We stayed one night at El Albergue. The room was nice. The hotel is at the train station. This is perfect for boarding the train to Machu Picchu! They have a restaurant and bar. The pisco sours went down smoothly!

Our superior room no. 11 was very spacious, clean and tidy. It has got a high ceiling which made it difficult to heat up the room with the heater the hotel provided. A second blanket helped though. The surrounding garden is beautiful. If you want to sleep in, you may be at the wrong spot though... at least for light... More

I just got back from my trip from Peru and had to write this review to let people be warned about this dodgy hotel. Like many people visiting Machu Picchu, we wanted to stay in this hotel because of the convenience to the train station. It is literally a part of the station itself. When we arrived at the hotel,... Ollantaytambo has limited 3-4 stars hotels. Most hotels ate a 15min ride from downtown. Most hotels in town ate actually hostels, such is the case of El Albergue. What the Alburgue has that oyher hostels dont have is the train station within a few, yes a few feet in front. Noise and vibration from all the trains coming by is... More

We loved our dinner here. We love the ambience & the old architecture. It is on the train platform. Food was delicious! Esta Ricco! Not expensive compared to fine dining in U.S. Truly enjoyable evening out.

Hidden in this quaint, little town of Ollaytantambo is this most convenient gem of a hotel. My friend and I stayed here one night on route to Aguas Calientes and it did not disappoint however could stand room for improvement. The service was nice however a bit slow. This was not much of a concern as we were moving a... More
