Stayed here for 1 night as part of an Intrepid tour. This place is amazing, comfortable beds, proper towels, great shower, had an amazing view and vibe and overall was amazing. The hotel had no TV but that didn't matter as wifi could help this and you don't just go to a hotel for the TV. The only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 out of 5 is the lack of a room safe, this added with the fact that you had to properly lock the door made me not give this a 5. Overall, highly recommended.
I was here as part of a tour and it was a nice hotel close to everything in town (only 5 minutes from the train stop)! The rooms were spacious and clean, and there were llamas at the hotel! A good stop on the way to Machu Picchu.
The room was basic, thin single glazing and the bathroom ceiling was black with mould. However, the lodge has good views and a nice breakfast room. I stayed here as part of the Intrepid Inca Trail group tour.
Lovely place, large rooms, clean and tidy. 5mins to the station and 8-10mins to the main square. Stay a few nights and visit the ruins on the mountains around the town and relax before going to Machu Picchu.
Was a lovely stay, so close to the train station to Machu Picchu. Waking up with llamas roaming around the yard right outside your hotel room was amazing! Would definitely stay here again. Also a lot of archaeological sights to visit!
Didn’t expect much. But the room was quite nice. Had a balcony, which is always pleasant. Hotel actually looked a bit rough and ready and needs some TLC but most acceptable. Lovely to be greeted by the hotel’s llamas after having dinner in the village Perfect place to start the journey to Machu Picchu.
My room was large, but basic. Large bathroom but horrified to find a power plug in the bath/shower wall! Yes! Best part was the view of snow on the mountains from my balcony in the morning. Hotel up the road from the train station and a short walk to town square and restaurants. A high fence was under construction around the garden area - not sure why. No bar or evening dining on site.
Good size rooms with big,hot shower. WiFi in the rooms and I have downloaded my paper so it worked for me. No tv in room but not a great loss. However a heater would have been nice. Lots of blankets on bed so slept ok. The garden is a delight, do wander around it, breakfast buffet adequate, ask the staff if you don’t see what you need they were very helpful
The exterior of the lodge looks appealing with lots of greenery. On the other hand, the interior lacked its touches. Bathroom had mold on the walls that was painted over. WiFi only worked from time to time in the lodge never in the room. Customer service a the reception area was poor to none existence. The lodge location accommodated to square of Ollantaytambo and the train station to take you to Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu. If you only looking for a good location this this is it, everything else is negative.
I wish I had more nights here. The scenics are beautifull, lamas at the entrance door and small river passing the gardens The room was large with balcony and large nice bathrrom with hot showers. Breasfast is basic but good enough to go through the day. The location is perfect with everything in walking distance: train station, market and restaurant 5min. The historiquic site is wow with incredible views. If you go to Macchu Picchu, they keep all your personals and it can be pick up later on the day. Personally,I believe it is better option to spend the night is then agua calientes where everything is overpriced and super crowded.
