Tunupa Lodge is an elegant, luxurious hotel located about 3 minutes walk from the train station to Machu Picchu, a perfect stopover when traveling from Cusco to Machu Picchu. We are centrally located within the town of Ollantaytambo, making our hotel an ideal place to explore the town and the Sacred Valley, or to start your journey on the Inca Trail. Our peaceful, gorgeous grounds and first-class services will ensure that your stay in Ollantaytambo will be unforgettable. Tunupa Lodge is perfectly situated to enjoy a stunning panaromic view of the ceremonial Incan fortress of Ollantaytambo, the ruins of Pinkuylluna, the glaciered Mt. The premises is pleasantly separated from the traffic — it’s almost possible to hear the sun set over the glacier.

Fantastic, almost 5 out of 5
Stayed here for 1 night as part of an Intrepid tour. This place is amazing, comfortable beds, proper towels, great shower, had an amazing view and vibe and overall was amazing. The hotel had no TV but that didn't matter as wifi could help this and you don't just go to a hotel for the TV. The only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 out of 5 is the lack of a room safe, this added with the fact that you had to properly lock the door made me not give this a 5. Overall, highly recommended.

Stunning location surrounded by the mountains
We only stayed for one night as part of an organised group tour. Our room was on the 1st floor, there is no lift. The breakfast was basic but adequate. It was wonderful to see alpacas and llamas wandering around the grounds. The whole hotel is surrounded by beautiful mountains, it's a stunning location. You can hear the train noise occasionally though. This is the connection location for the Machu Picchu train. Within 10 mins walk are several bar and restaurant choices. The rooms are basic but clean and quaint.

A good stopover for catching the Train to Aguas Calientes
We had a triple bed room, spacious and comfortable. Wifi was good. Also nearby to the Ollantaytambo train station for Peru Rail and Inca Rail. Plenty of cafes and restaurants within a 3 minute walk. The property had a family of Alpacas roaming the grounds.

Situated in the Sacred Valley this hotel was an interim stop between the bustle of Cusco and the Inca Trail. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of town but has spacious and clean rooms with friendly staff and a good selection for breakfast.

The llamas by the rooms were so lovely! Decent sized rooms and good breakfast. Well located and convenient. Locks/keys were very frustrating to use and kept getting stuck. Someone else entered my room by mistake too - again because of the locks I think.

I was here as part of a tour and it was a nice hotel close to everything in town (only 5 minutes from the train stop)! The rooms were spacious and clean, and there were llamas at the hotel! A good stop on the way to Machu Picchu.

The room was basic, thin single glazing and the bathroom ceiling was black with mould. However, the lodge has good views and a nice breakfast room. I stayed here as part of the Intrepid Inca Trail group tour.

Lovely place, large rooms, clean and tidy. 5mins to the station and 8-10mins to the main square. Stay a few nights and visit the ruins on the mountains around the town and relax before going to Machu Picchu.

Was a lovely stay, so close to the train station to Machu Picchu. Waking up with llamas roaming around the yard right outside your hotel room was amazing! Would definitely stay here again. Also a lot of archaeological sights to visit!
