The manager offered us a tour while in Ollanta, although staying elsewhere; this is a clean, pleasant, and affordable hotel near the plaza and the path to the ruins. Next visit, I would definitely choose this hotel. It has a breakfast room overlooking the river,...More
Hotel Sol is adjacent to the stream at the bridge that separates Ollataytambo square from the entrance to the ruins (not talking about the main river down by the rail road). The hotel has a modern, yet colonial feel with comfortable bed and plenty of...More
The hotel had someone waiting for us at the Cusco airport, which was great since the ride was a bit over 2 hours to get to Ollantantambo from Cusco(this cost us $50US and we had to call ahead of time to request). It was a...More
We stayed at Hotel Sol for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay. We thought the location was perfect, right between the ruins and the main square, less than a 5 minute walk to both. Ollanta is a great town and we loved it.
It's a decent hotel, but not quite sure how Hotel Sol earns the three star qualification. Our three star accommodations in Cusco were far superior at a similar price. Although Oscar is a fantastic host, we were dissatisfied because when we arrived we were told...More

We arrived at the hotel around 9:30am on our check-in date, and they let us register and leave our bags at reception but told us we would be able to access our rooms at 1pm. We had a tour booked at 10am so this didn't matter too much, but perhaps write to the hotel in advance? They might be able to accommodate if you reach out to let them know you'll be getting in early. Also, plan ~30min to grab your bags and leave Cusco airport, and another 2 hours to reach Ollantaytambo.

The breakfast typically begins at 6:00 am. However, if you have an early departure, they will kindly have a boxed breakfast available for you to take in the road or eat there. However, it will not be a hot breakfast.
