The main benefit of this lodge is it proximity to Machu Picchu. If you stay here you can chose which time of day to visit the site. We started in the middle of the day with a guide and many others. It was lovely but we went back in the late afternoon and at 6am next morning when it opened... More

If you want to see Machu Picchu and enjoy all that this area has to offer, the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge is the best place to be. The service is wonderful. Rooms are small but lovely and well appointed with Wifi, USB outlets, both 110 and 220 voltage, robes, hair dryer, cable TV. We stayed 2 nights and our travel agent... More

We spent one night at the Belmond Sanctuary lodge and would definitely recommend it. The unique location allows you to spend far more time at Machu Picchu without all the crowds. Staff was fabulous - above and beyond. Wilson even found our train tickets which I had thrown out by mistake. A special treat!

We were so pleased we stayed here for one night on our visit to MP. Yes the rooms are bijou - but the price includes all meals and drinks - excluding expensive imports. The staff are welcoming, the grounds an oasis from the crowds and it beats to having to queue for a bus to Aguas Calientes and back to... More

For some hotels, when they know they are the only place to stay so close to a world known landmark with thousands of visitors everyday, they charge an exorbitant price but offer very little. But definitely not here at the Sanctuary Lodge. Looking at the terribly long queue of tired travelers waiting for the bus to go downhill, we felt... More

After all the travelling to get to Machu Picchu it was not nice to be able to actually STAY there overnight and not take the twisty (but wonderful views) road back up and down to Aguas Calientes. It meant when the gates closed to the site you had the peace and quiet of the area around the hotel - beautiful... More

You take planes, trains and busses to get to Michu Picchu. Once here you are so happy and even happier to be one of the fortunate ones to have a room or better yet, suite 28, at the lodge. And even better you don't have to get on the wild bus at the end of day and come back on... More

It is impossible to beat this location. A garden room with a view of the mountains is very hard to beat, but is even better with a glass of champagne in your hand. Although expensive, this is an all-inclusive hotel, meaning that the cost includes all meals and drinks (with a few exceptions for those with expensive tastes). One of... More
