The hostel owner and staff were so accommodating and helpful! The property itself was very ecologically friendly and cute. We enjoyed the free breakfast provided to us. Location was great as was the neighborhood of Barranco. They were even kind enough to make us free piscos for my friends bday. 10/10 would stay again!

Good location being close to a laundrette, hair dressers and shop which suited us as we had to do those chores but not really much else close by. There isn’t enough bathrooms here, difficult to share one per floor especially as there wasn’t a separate toilet. Staff weren’t very helpful at this hotel.

Nice place, nice staff, and comfortable mattresses. Decent breakfast too. But we ordered a larger breakfast for which they overcharged, in my opinion. Note bathrooms are shared. Update September 2018: The third floor is a disaster. Don’t stay there. We paid more for a private bathroom and were given a tiny room that had dirty pillows, unswept floors, dirty toilet, and black mold in the walls. This was disappointing considering our previous two stays were good.

Response from Frogui L, Propriétaire at FroGuesthouse
Responded Jul 26, 2019
Dear Brian, Thanks for your comment, it helps up to a certain limit. I understand you were unlucky during your stay, and for this I can only be sorry. You booked at the time when the administrator was ill and there was a lack of supervision. However, your comment is unreasonable and biased: You chose to take only a hair you saw on the floor, and 3 photos of the humidity marks that cumulate on the roof; It happens in places like Lima where humidity can reach up to 80-90 %, and to avoid this, roofs should be painted every year, which is not environmental friendly; we do our best to find the trade of between comfort and environemental friendlyness, but with your kinf of overfocus on thes kind of details, we may start thinking the whole guesthouse is like this. By the way, this room has ben completely refurbished and a dehumidifyier is working there to limit the impact of moisture on the walls. The house shows a display of amazing art and professional photos, and we support a biological reserve restoration project in San Martin. We hope next time you have the mindset to see and share these things as well, as just in front of your room, there was a poster describing our work. 3 over 7 rooms have shared bathroom. You comment says clearly "bathrooms are shared", as if all the rooms were shared, which is not true. Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience, and we hope you can come back to give us this time a proper opinion abou the place as it really is. kind regards

Clean rooms, good beds, great pillows, great location just off the busy area. Breakfast was good with fresh bakery items. Good english, and has a very nice stay. Washrooms with hot water. Would stay again and recommend. After Kamniu backerpackers hostel gave away our room we were thankful that we stayed with froguest house instead!

Loved our stay here and could've stayed longer. Super helpful staff, trendy decor, really spacious rooms and bathrooms and comfy beds. Breakfast was nice - good selection of warm breads and eggs, as well as fresh juice and tea/coffee. Also, great location to explore barranco's galleries and restaurants.

I had a great stay at Froguesthouse, everything was good. The bed was comfortable, the sheet was clean and the bathroom was not a problem to be shared. I loved staying in Barranco, after 3 days in MIraflores. There was so much great food to eat around the neighborhood. Jord at the guesthouse was so warm and welcoming, he only wanted the best for me. That is just great service. I recommend this place with my whole heart. Try to find - Mi Peru in Barranco! For great lunch!

This friendly and tidy guesthouse is located perfectly in the living Lima, but still near to the ocean beach and Miraflores. I loved Barranco district with its artistic strain, and all those cool bars nearby!

Great place to stay on a budget. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help us. The rooms were basic but very clean. The wifi worked very well. The bathroom was large and clean and although it was shared, we never found ourselves waiting to use it. Barranco is a cool neighbourhood in Lima. Not as happening as Miraflores but it depends on what you are looking for as there are a lot of good little spots in this area. Definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Barranco on a budget.

I had a few days in Lima and booked the frog guest house online. I did not expect for the price to be first of all received by such hospitality , warmth and sweetness. The living room downstairs is fully set up with a projector. The paintings fill the space and are so well done. The kitchen is for open use and I could make my own dinner! Breakfast was served in such abundance. I felt the entire time to be home with family! The rooms are so super modern, bed sheets do clean, decoration simple and graceful! Really it was the perfect end to my stay in Peru. Highly recommend it! Jordy is such a darling , so easy to talk too and so helpful. The owner has the love for fine things and guest hospitality as well as such an amazing mind! I travel ALOT and get so happy when I find such jewels :)

My wife and I stayed at FroGuesthouse on two separate occasions. Both were positive experiences. The guesthouse is difficult to find as there is no sign from the outside to indicate the house is where it is. Very few taxi drivers will know where it is. The guesthouse is a converted house with a number of comfortable rooms with a shared communal bathroom. We had the room at the front both times and although the road has the usual Peruvian street noise the double glazing blocks out most of it. Breakfast varied day to day but was either eggs and bread or fruit salad and bread accompanied with a fruit smoothie and a choice of coffee or tea. There was no issue getting more coffee, it was a good meal to start the day with. The guesthouse was only a short walk up to Barranco (8mins) where there are a number of local restaurants and also a few chain restaurants (notably Starbucks). You can also walk down to the beach easily enough from Barranco centre. Taxis into the centre of Lima cost us around 20 soles and to the airport booked through the hotel 70 soles (you can get a local cab for around 40 soles if you haggle). Overall a lovely guesthouse which is good value for money and had excellent and consistent wifi.
