We spent two very pleasant nights in this unique B&B in a garden view room (#1). The B&B is easy to reach (about 45 minutes by car from the airport) and is in a very convenient sea-side location in the center of Barranco, within walking distance of many very good restaurants, bars and shops. The whole B&B and grounds are beautifully decorated with many different art pieces. Also the pool area is very beautiful and peaceful. The on-site artist studio is also very worthwhile visiting. And ocean views from the front garden are simply fantastic, with very nice sunsets as well. Our room was very spacious (including small balcony) and nicely appointed with various art pieces. There was no airconditioning, but we did not miss as sleeping with open windows was perfectly fine and cool enough, and quiet as well. The bed was very comfortable, so we had very good sleeps. Service in general was ok with most staff friendly and helpful, whereas breakfast was simple but ok too. For the room prices in this B&B you could expect a somewhat more luxurious breakfast though. We certainly would consider staying at this B&B again when next in Lima.

We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay after finishing our two week trip in Peru. The ocean side views are spectacular and a haven to come back to after sight seeing in Lima. The mansion is filled with the beautiful works of Victor Delfin, who still maintains his art studio on the premises. Carlos and Lillian do an amazing job running the hotel and making everyone feel welcome! Zeus, the most adorable puppy was the highlight of our stay...we miss him! Our room suite , Mirador 3 was amazing! We loved the hammock overlooking the ocean! PS ~Carlos makes a great pisco sour!

The main house was the home of the sculptor Viktor Delfin and is still run by the family. It is located right above the Pacific ocean in the up and coming district of Barranco. Modern, international hotels are all along the coast, making one appreciate what a gem of a small guesthouse this is. We arrived late in the evening, were very quickly checked-in and shown to our room across the lawn. There was a double height ceiling which felt very spacious and steps down to the sleeeping area. Little niggles such as not being able to lock our sliding doors onto the balcony (no-one could access the balcony as it was above a cliff) and no safe in the room ( valuables could be deposited in the office and we saw CCTV in the grounds) were a minor irritation soon forgotten as everything else was so great - the view the next day was spectacular, the garden was delightful, breakfast was delicious with eggs cooked to order and all the staff were very helpful. There was an interesting selection of artwork including paintings and sculptures in the main house and grounds. If you want to get away from international hotel chains and experience something more authentic, I would recommend Second Home every time.

I stayed here for 3 nights last November, and I completely fell in love with the place. It's a beautiful house converted into a bed and breakfast, filled with art by Peruvian artist Victor Delfin, best known for the kiss statue in the Miraflores neighborhood. Everyone who works here is really nice, and they'll go out of their way for you to make you feel welcome. They serve breakfast (it's paid, but inexpensive, I forget how much), and you can choose between scrambled eggs or fried eggs, and they have a bread basket and some butter and jams, plus coffee or tea. They had a couple of dogs that I also loved being able to play with--the youngest one is called Zeus and he's adorable! The hotel is located in the beautiful neighborhood of Barranco, which is a bohemian neighborhood in Lima. You can walk to several bars and restaurants (one block away from Isolina, which is on the same street, and a 10 min walking distance to Central). You can get an Uber and be in Miraflores in 10 mins. Thank you Carlos for everything!

We stayed here three nights at the tail end of a two week trip to Peru, and it was the perfect place to wrap up our vacation. The location is right in the middle of Barranco and close walking distance to a bunch of wonderful cafes, restaurants, and bars. Not to mention, the hotel itself is right on the water with stunning views. I loved all the art on display in the hotel and it had the feeling of a quirky guest house. The staff were all welcoming and there are several friendly dogs and cats on the grounds that make it feel homey. The rooms are fairly spartan, but this is to be expected given the price point. My one complaint is the noise. The house is quite echoey, and in our room we could hear everything going on in the common spaces. I think more carpets and some softer furnishings would probably help absorb the sound a little.
