Second Home Peru is great! It is like staying at an extended family member's home. We had a room with a balcony over looking the ocean. It was the perfect way to end our trip to Peru. The room was great and the location of the house was walk-able to restaurants and things to do in the Barranco neighborhood. The... More

Six of us kicked off our Machu Picchu holiday with a few days beforehand in Lima, Peru. We were met at the airport by the hotel driver, Edward, who took us safely back to the hotel. Rooms are lovely but the ambience of the place took our breath away. Breakfast got us underway early and we enjoyed our time together... More

The place is quite fancy especially if you return from Huaraz after almost a month on the Cordillera Blanca mountains! Rooms with high ceiling, artsy decor, amazing ocean view, and lovely cat and dogs. The breakfast was kind of light for us wannabe-mountaineers but everything was fresh and that goes a long way. We got a lecture from the lovely... More

This house was a feast for the eyes, along with the grounds, tastefully studded with the art and artifacts of the esteemed owner, artist Victor Delfin. Our room with its large, warm, comfortable bed was, likewise, a treat, opening onto a shared terrace overlooking the Pacific, a setting shared by the expansive yard and terraces leading down to the artist's... This house sits on a beautiful, large property at the end of a quiet street. The outside and inside are filled with gorgeous art, and the architectural details of the house were beautiful. We had two different rooms, and we could hear the ocean from both, yet you are steps from restaurants and great sites. The only reason I did... More

We overnighted at Second Home at the recommendation of Wendy Weeks, the American artist who has the El AlbergAfter being stuck in gridlock Lima traffic coming out of the airport, we made it to Barranco, which is an older neighborhood on the ocean. Arriving after dark, we buzzed ourselves in and were led into the charming 100 year old home... More

I had high expectations for this stay, and I was not disappointed. My partner and I arrived rather late to Lima, and the hotel happily arranged for a wonderful driver, Sr. Carlos Fernandez, to pick us up. The property also serves as the studio of famed Peruvian sculptor and artist Victor Delfin, and his extraordinary art can be found gracing... More

After over 10 days combined on the Salkantay Trek, Machu Piccu and then the Peruvian Amazon basin, it was an absolute pleasure to stay at Second Home Peru. Incredibly charming and hospitable place, I felt like I could almost soak in some art and culture of Lima without leaving the hotel itself or the surrounding neighborhood of Barranco. So glad... This fabulous old family home turned B n B/Artists studio is THE best place to stay in Lima without a doubt. Eclectic and full of color and life, the inn offers spectacular views of the Pacific, friendly and helpful staff and adorable pets! Stay in one of the balcony rooms, but only if you don't have a fear of heights.... More

Unfortunately we only stayed here one night at the end of our Peru vacation. Barranco is the "Greenwich village" of Lima. We stayed in Miraflores district at the beginning of our trip and found this gem for the return, last night. Our room overlooked the Pacific and was an incredibly cool room. It is near downtown Barranco and good restaurants.... More
