What a place! The ultimate definition of “sense of destination” and Lima’s only Relais & Châteaux hotel. We booked just one night (big mistake) as part of the last stop on an amazing couples’ trip, to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu, and it was supposed to be just a stopover, to rest before returning home. What an amazing surprise it was, especially because my partner happens to be an architect and a lighting designer. This hotel is a true Belle Époque jewel, designed by architect Claude Sahut in 1914, who was also responsible for some of the most iconic buildings, mansions and public spaces in Lima, such as Palacio de Gobierno (Peruvian Government Palace), Palacio Arzobispal (Palace of the archbishop), Prefectura de Lima (Mayor’s Office Building), some of the most elegant private homes in the city and, Parque de La Reserva, one of his masterpieces and a relevant witness to the history of the city and the country. Claude Sahut represents to Lima what McKim, Mead & White represent to New York City. As I said, true “sense of destination.” The mansion’s superb renovation and impeccable taste of the overall design, match perfectly the elevated level of service offered by Hotel B’s staff. Every member of this property works hard to deliver a very professional, yet warm service. Actually, I don’t think that they work hard at this, as the delivery of their service looks so genuine and effortless. To me, personally, the private collection of works by local and Latin-American contemporary artists, splendidly curated throughout the public spaces and rooms, was the most memorable part of the experience. The location is quite unique. Barranco is one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Lima, physically in front of the Pacific Ocean. The hotel is within walking distance (or a short car ride) to a variety of first-class shopping and dining options, as well as art galleries and museums. I cannot wait for our next trip to Lima and to Hotel B. Jose Mauricio Montoya…
We had a small gathering with some friends at the terraza. We ordered quiet a few drinks and some appetizers.(cheese board, chicken fingers, meat board, French fries, desserts, and all sort of drinks including some we never ever tried before and they didn’t disappoint.) We loved the quality of the food and friendly service, if you’re in Lima, this is a must for happy hour.
Beautiful roof top at Hotel B. We had a great time, delicious food and ambiance. Great service and the hotel is an art gallery. It is nice to walk around before getting to the roof top. The cheese board was super good, wectried a pizza and other dishes.
Place to be if you happen to be part of the privileged socialite of Lima. The Bar, overcrowded, noisy and expensive, you get the feeling of being in an old library, staff very attentive and service was great, on the expensive and exclusive side. Open til late.
Honestly is a great option in Lima, customer service is great , hotel is magnific architecture and has even stores inside, rooms are spacious and concierge is always there to help you. the rooftop deck bar is great but Horrible stairs to go up, No for seniors, too much stairs everywhere. Just be aware of that but food drinks and eveything was fantastic !
This Relais & Chateaux old mansion is in the heart of Barranco (Lima) had been completely renovated to perfection. Combines luxury, decoration, art and good taste. Our room was on the 1st level and there was art everywhere (it's an art gallery!). Everything is taken care of to the last detail, from the Check in on the ground floor, the restaurant, the terrace, the breakfast, everything is tasteful and excellently well attended. The sea is just one block away and the sunsets are incredible! The best restaurants in Lima are all very close (and the concierges are always taking care of getting a place ;) The staff is incredible, leaded by their GM Maria Jose who is always attentive to all the details. Thanks to all the team at this Great Hotel with Soul in Lima, we will be back!!
Hotel B in Barranco Lima has been one of the best hotels ever. A warm and friendly welcome by Miguel in the front desk. He was super kind and attended everything. We is amazing. He kept every single detail to make us feel comfortable all the time during our two days stay. Amazing property, comfortable beds, luxurious decorations and very secure. The restaurant food is amazing but has to improve the wine list. Jesus the waiter explained very good the menu. The portion of the meals are very generous. One of our best dinners in Lima. We will be back. Thanks again Miguel.
This hotel was magnificient! From the stunning original artwork, fabulous decor, beautiful dining area and rooftop bar and 5 star service, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was delicous and the staff could not do enough and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience including packing a breakfast for us to take with us to the airport when we had a very early 5am departure.
Stayed 2 nights at Hotel B on the front end of a trip through Peru. First impressions were the hotel is situated in a beautiful colonial mansion and they've done a great job renovating the spaces and rooms to fit the overall style and decor of the area and building. One caution to future guests is that because the hotel is built in an old mansion, it is VERY loud and lacks and any soundproofing. We could hear full conversations right outside our room clear as day, including every person closing their door, coming off the elevator, and the street traffic through the single pane windows. This meant interrupted sleep on both nights we were there, which was frustrating. Rooftop bar is great, though inconsistent on service (half the time it was closed with no explanation, the other half they had very slow service). Overall it's a nice hotel in terms of design, but they could invest a little in making it quieter and more private in the rooms.…
The staff are fabulous. They are so helpful with their local knowledge, restaurant suggestions etc. The bedrooms are incredibly comfortable - large, spacious, beautiful bathrooms, lovely bath and shower. Huge TV. The food is superb, the location gorgeous. Would highly recommend this place. It is so close to the Pacific Ocean.
