I had stayed at the hotel before and used the bar and restaurant around 4-5 years ago. This time I decided to try the roof terrace which must be a new addition and what a fantastic addition that is. My wife and I sat and watched a beautiful sunset sipping a nice cocktail. When the sun went and it got a little chilly there were lovely alpaca blankets to keep us warm. We were going to eat downstairs but as the hotel wS almost completely empty decided to stay on the roof. The food was excellent I cannot think of anyway to could be improved. I had an octopus starter which was the best cooked octopus I have ever eaten. All our courses including the chocolate desert were top class. Congratulations Chef and team. It’s a shame to see what was once a cool buzzing bar and hotel so empty and so lose a bit of atmosphere :( The drinks service at first was a little slow, there were only 10 people on the roof. There was also the construction of a new bar going on, until 7.30pm! It was a little noisy. I hope to return to use the roof again. And as always the art everywhere is fantastic. …
Spend one night here for my anniversary. Room was splendid....the hotel was made inside an old historic building totally renew with lots of details, sophisticated art, wooden floors, art hanging on every wall. We received a bottle of champagne and a platter with cheeses and fruit. Food on their restaurant was delicious, served magically! Really surprised with this hotel....high expectations and really not disappointed!
This is a gorgeous hotel in Lima’s charming Barranco district that should really be 4 stars but charges as a 5+ one. The property is very nice but it felt (even during COVID!) like the rooms were an attachment to a series of bars and restaurants, which means the place is extremely noisy (I was woken up at 6am by wedding photographers setting up for a session). Overpriced as it is (the food is ok) and with rooms that are tiny, the house is lovely and the neighbourhood gorgeous and the staff incredibly nice (and probably exploited given they have to cater for both the guests and the public spaces) but next time I’ll stay somewhere else.
As part of our tour guide package we had a mixology lesson in the courtyard of Hotel B. Beautiful hotel in a great bohemian & artsy neighborhood. Friendly staff, great drinks and food. Did some research on it and would definitely come back here for drinks or to lodge here if ever I was back in Lima.
Superb oasis in the heart of the best neighborhood in Lima! We had the absolute BEST time at Hotel B, and will stay here again if we’re ever back in Lima. We arrived around 11-11:30 AM, and planned to just have the hotel hold our bags, but to our surprise were greeted w/ a glass of champagne and were immediately able to check into our room! We were then asked if we would like a quick tour of the property to which we of course agreed! While being whisked around the property as we sipped our champagne, we viewed the over 300 pieces of art on display, and learned about the history of the owners and the restoration process for the over 100 year old space. It is evident that the owners of Hotel B painstakingly thought about every last detail in the planning and designing process, and have beautifully preserved much of it’s original charm. The space is filled with interesting pieces of art, and charming little nooks - perfect for sipping a Pisco Sour while browsing one of the many history, art, and design books they have in display. The rooftop sun deck, only accessible for hotel guests, provides a perfect viewing spot of the beach and the bustling Barranco neighborhood. We found our room spacious and inviting, and enjoyed the added touches of the lofty space including the luxurious, oversized bed, the interesting art pieces, and our quaint balcony with a view overlooking the art galleries, cafes, and inviting neighborhood bars and restaurants that were just steps away. We found the staff at Hotel B to be friendly, gracious, and more than accommodating. They were able to anticipate our every need, and made us feel especially welcomed and at home in their space. During our stay, we had some free time before our dinner reservation, and decided at the last minute to participate in one of the experiences offered at Hotel B - the cocktail mixology class offered at the hotel bar. The experience was superb, and we found our instructor and mixologist, Jefferson, to be a wealth of knowledge about not only Peruvian spirits and cocktails, but also the neighborhood of Barranco. He enthusiastically gave us several recommendations for hidden spots in the neighborhood, and shared with us his passion for spirits and mixology. It was evident to see his passion for what he does, and it made the experience that much more enjoyable for us. During the class, we learned how to make 3 Peruvian cocktails, a Pisco Sour, a Basilisco, and a Dirty Daikiri, each cocktail was paired perfectly with a light bite including a delicious banana caramel cheesecake to finish the experience. After a long, HOT day exploring the city, the private experience was a welcome, refreshing experience, and one I would definitely recommend. Overall, I don’t think you could find a better hotel in a more charming neighborhood in Lima …
