This hotel was magnificient! From the stunning original artwork, fabulous decor, beautiful dining area and rooftop bar and 5 star service, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was delicous and the staff could not do enough and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience including packing a breakfast for us to take with us to the airport when we had a very early 5am departure.
Stayed 2 nights at Hotel B on the front end of a trip through Peru. First impressions were the hotel is situated in a beautiful colonial mansion and they've done a great job renovating the spaces and rooms to fit the overall style and decor of the area and building. One caution to future guests is that because the hotel is built in an old mansion, it is VERY loud and lacks and any soundproofing. We could hear full conversations right outside our room clear as day, including every person closing their door, coming off the elevator, and the street traffic through the single pane windows. This meant interrupted sleep on both nights we were there, which was frustrating. Rooftop bar is great, though inconsistent on service (half the time it was closed with no explanation, the other half they had very slow service). Overall it's a nice hotel in terms of design, but they could invest a little in making it quieter and more private in the rooms.…
The staff are fabulous. They are so helpful with their local knowledge, restaurant suggestions etc. The bedrooms are incredibly comfortable - large, spacious, beautiful bathrooms, lovely bath and shower. Huge TV. The food is superb, the location gorgeous. Would highly recommend this place. It is so close to the Pacific Ocean.
Perfectly located for walking, clean, gorgeous picturesque hotel with an incredibly friendly staff! I want to give out a special s/o to Miguel who was extremely accommodating. I stayed 2x at this hotel and both times he went above and beyond from helping retrieve items, we left at a restaurant to organizing to-go breakfast, for our early flights! I would highly recommend this hotel.
We had a great stay at Hotel B; it is in a historic building with unique architecture and a great location, right in Barranco. The service was very responsive, breakfast very good. Our room in the middle category (Aposento) was spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The only negative we found is that the wifi/internet is quite slow at times (probably too slow for Zoom or other videoconferencing, for example); they don't seem to have the bandwidth to handle all the traffic they get at the hotel.
Spent four nights while in Lima. Truly excellent. Great location. Very quiet, despite being off fairly busy street, due to excellent window insulation. Great breakfasts. Gabriela was especially notable for her outstanding service in the restaurant. Excellent afternoon tea, killer rooftop bar. Had drinks at bar one night as well. Great service at Reception, Restaurants, Bars. We would definitely stay here again!
I recently spent 3 nights (1 night by itself and then 2 nights together later in the week) at the Hotel B in the Barranco section of Lima. This is a very well-known boutique hotel in the city and it is pretty easy to see why. I was very impressed overall with my stay but what made the biggest difference is the graciousness and hospitality of almost all of the hotel employees that I came into contact with! From the moment you enter the hotel to check in they provide you with a courtesy drink which is much appreciated and they the convenience of contacting the staff via Whatsapp for any requests/questions at any hour is very helpful! I loved how fast they always were with getting back to me quickly with a response. The rooms themselves are very individualized--no single room is the same from what I can tell. They are very eclectic with mostly modern art installations here and there all over the hotel and rooms. While this won't be to everyone's taste I found it to be charming and pretty elegant, to be honest. My room was the "altelier" level one and it came with a balcony in the "old mansion" part of the hotel. High quality bedding which was very comfortable as well as great quality, plush towels (something that is essential for a luxury hotel!) The room was immaculately clean and they even had turndown service which I think is a rarity these days due to covid. But I'm so glad they're doing it at Hotel B (they ask first if you want it.) I want to thank the very kind, very helpful and very lovely housekeeper Rosa for her assistance during my visit. She even provided some free ironing/pressing of a pair of pants and shirt!) What a wonderful representative of Peruvian hospitality she is! While the room was a bit noisy from the rooftop bar upstairs all I had to do was close the bathroom doors and the noise disappeared. In terms of food and beverage--excellent! I loved in particular the "rooftop" or "bar" menu--delicious plates to share (I ate them myself, no sharing!) which were very reasonably priced in my opinion. Breakfast is free and I found it of good quality as well. I will say the waffle they serve you (if you pick it) is strangely tiny but other than that I was very pleased with the free breakfast that is on offer. They even gave me a breakfast box when I had to leave at 5:45 AM to go to the airport! (With a list of choices to pick from ahead of time.) Thank you, Hotel B!! And I must mention Miguel at the front desk who had just begun working at the hotel a few days before my stay. He was the epitome of pleasantness and hospitality--definitely an asset to the hotel. The rooftop definitely draws crowds to the hotel (non-guests) and it's clear why--there is a view to the nearby ocean from the rooftop that is wonderful if it's not super cloudy as it frequently is in September during my visit. Juan Carlos at the rooftop provided excellent service and was friendly and very "real"--I loved getting a chance to interact with someone who was as down-to-earth as he was--I felt like I was really interacting with real Peruvians. I will say that the prices I found for Hotel B seemed strangely low--usually it is extremely expensive but what I paid would definitely bring me back in a heartbeat if I can still get a great price. Not sure if it's just a temporary thing or not as I know regularly the hotel costs well over a couple hundred dollars a night but not when I was there. (I won't say more as I don't want the place to become overcrowded!) The only areas for improvement were a couple random things. While the staff in general was awesome (as I have mentioned with Rosa, Miguel and Juan Carlos) there was at least one individual--a young woman working breakfast who was rude and ignored me (I let Miguel know) but hopefully with better training she can improve. Lastly, the water they provide you comes in large glass bottles but it's not clear to me if they're just refilled or purchased new--when opening the cap they seemed like they had just been re-filled which to me isn't appealing. As one can see these are fairly minor issues and in no way would prevent me from coming back. I whole-heartedly recommend the Hotel B for anyone coming to Lima for tourism and who would like a somewhat non-traditional (but still high end) lodging experience! Thank you, Hotel B! Matthew R.…
Hotel B is known in Lima like a cradle of privilege and luxury, but I found that apart from Its beautiful interior it didn’t have that much to offer, in other words, its exorbitant prices are hardly justified. Yes, the atelier rooms are rather pretty and filled with interesting artworks, but the food is less than mediocre, which is unforgivable in the city where the culinary skills have been elevated to the level of art. I found many items in the “free” breakfast/brunch not only unappealing but even inedible (for instance the so called caprese appetizer). The massage in the room was 3 times more expensive than a regular massage, which is expected, but it lacked quality. The $25 massage at a regular spa was much more pleasant. So basically what I am trying to say that there was not much quality control and a lot of reliance on the property’s attractiveness like some beautiful people have good bone structure but alas little substance.…
Amazing staff that goes above and beyond. They were happy to accommodate any request, make reservations and suggestions, print tickets and do research. They were fantastic. The hotel is beautiful and art collection is amazing. The rooftop bar is really cool. The lobby bar has tons of character. My suite was amazing. The location is great. I LOVED the breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel.
We arrived very late at night and we appreciated the staff getting us checked in quickly. We were also given a welcome postcard and a little pouch with some masks and alcohol, which was very sweet. However, I had requested two separate beds online and when we arrived to the room, there was only one king. The staff separated it for us, but it took a good 30 minutes to do so. The artwork in the hotel is absolutely lovely and I enjoyed looking at the pieces. Breakfast was included and the food was delicious, but the service was extremely slow. I understand that many people simply come to the rooftop restaurant for brunch, but we were travelers with an itinerary, so it was a bit inconvenient to wait that long for some food before heading out the door. All in all, we liked the hotel.
