Friendly owner but very dirty. Dirty floor, Dirty bathroom and the most disgusting, some hairs on the pillow and in the bed that really shows that the sheets haven't been changed. The windows are dirty, every piece of furniture is covered with dust and fat. It was our worst sleeping experience in Peru. Even in the jungle the Cabañas were... More

I've been staying here since 2002 and always welcome arriving as a friend at Erwin's house. This is a legendary pension frequented largely by Europeans and other adventuresome sorts. The location as a whole has a homey charm with excellent orientation from Erwin on demand. The rooms are small and simple, but all that is needed as a base to... More

This place is something of an institution - firstly its very hard to find and even when you're standing right in front of it its not immediately apparent its a hostel. Its a family-owned place, and if you are expecting somewhere clinical, this isn't it! It's very homely, and lived-in, with a courtyard garden, a roof terrace, and a pair... More

This hostel was described as basic but clean. Unfortunately, although the owner is helpful, the room smelled like mildew, it was falling apart, and felt like a decrepit institution. I would not recommend this place at all.

There is a problem about your informations. You have to define what kind of traveler is the hotel for: I looked for the information about Pension Yolanda in Lima, Peru, on your site Tripadvisor, and all the ratings were positive if not marvelous. I got there, thanks God at 5 o'clock in the morning, and I found out that the... More

THANK YOU ERWIN! I was only in Lima one night before my return flight to the USA - the flight left at 12:05am and after a long, sweaty day walking around Lima, Erwin let me shower before heading to the airport. It doesn't sound like much but I had 20 hours of travel ahead of me and starting off clean... More

The owner, Erwin was very kind and helpful in making arrangements for taxis and advising on travel through Peru. The hostel though is a little tired looking, and a bit expensive for what you get , even in Lima.

This small, private hotel is a great value and highly recommended for visiting Lima. The owner, Erwin Escobar, who speaks fluent English and other languages, is extremely hospitable and knowledgeable about traveling all over Peru. During our trip, our night bus to Arequipa was cancelled due to strikes and he was most helpful in helping us find cheap airline tickets... More

During a two month trip to SA the proprietor of this hotel stands out as one of the most kind, generous, and friendly people we met (which explains why four months later I still feel compelled to honor him with a review). The situation: We had just re-arrived in Lima after taking an all-night bus from Mancora and were in... More
