I've been here just for one night, because of a stop over to Cuzco and I arrived late. The owner arranged a taxi for me from the airport, which was really convenient after a 20 hours trip. At check-in I received a lot of information about the city, which is kind a handy when you'll stay in lima for more as one day. The room was really clean, as well was the bathroom. The breakfast was a lot of fresh bread and juice. Had some nice conversations with the staff. They also have a own tourist office, where you can book a lot of trips. You won't feel the pressure to book something.
Upon arrival to Lima, we did not stay in Miraflores because we were headed south to Pachacamac first then fly to Cusco. We visited Lima on the last part of the trip. So we stayed here, not far from the airport. The lodging and accommodation was chosen by our tour operator. We stayed here. For breakfast, they served very skimpy including hard boiled eggs. On the first day, we did not depart early for activities so some slept in. There were not enough eggs and there were still a few people who have not eaten. The staff looked so surprised and said she will ask permission from the boss if she can prepare more. There were no napkins on the table. They kept handing out a sheet or two to a group and we kept asking. They provided one small bottle of water and when we asked for a refill, they said the tiny jar in the kitchen is for drinking there only, not to refill any water bottles. So we bought large bottles (and they made sure we did). They did not refill the water bottle in the kitchen. There were no toiletries provided except tp, no shampoo. The building is pretty much “bolted” down and not easily accessible. You have to ring the doorbell and the entry door is very heavy. The doorbell hummed at all the rooms instead of just the front desk. Wifi is in the lobby.…
I found out about this place in a traveller’s blog. It was the perfect spot to spend one day in Lime. They arranged our airport transportations without complications. The rooms are simple and practical. The wiffi works well. It is a nice walkable area close to the ocean and a park with playground. Breakfast was perfect.
Rooms are small - but clean. Staff was helpful with arranging for Breakfast very early. Menu for Breakfast is very basic indeed. Internet was very intermittent. Staff was helpful in arranging for Laundry.
This is an ok place to be. The hotel is clean, wifi, showers and the owner Toon, is always ready to assist you in what ever you need. The hotel is of colonial build with various common spaces and you have many possibilities to meet other guests. The hotel is not very close to the center of town, but taxis are relatively cheap (count 15 - 20 soles) and it is close, at walking distance, to the sea.
Nice hostel. Clean, very accommodating. Nice breakfast - coffee tea juice egg bread. Stayed one night between airline flights. Near beach. Quiet neighborhood. Owner met us at the gate as we came in on a late flight and notified us when our taxi was outside for the trip to airport.
This was the first place I stayed after an exhausting three-flight trip to Peru. The owner and his staff were personable and helpful. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. I took a few strolls in the neighborhood during a two-night stay. I'd stay here again.
To start with the positives: The staff was easy to work with and very easy to communicate with prior to the trip. Once there the hostal was clean and the people friendly. As titled it is nice enough...it is very very basic. The beds and pillows are not the best and this made for a tough time sleeping (and everything was constantly damp!). Things are very dated in the hotel. The breakfast was adequate. It was fine for our arrival night and for the 2nd night (one day in Lima is probably good enough, if you really want to "be" in Lima stay in a better hotel in San Isidro or Miraflores).
We usually stay with family when being in Peru however this time we needed an alternative place to stay for two nights. Primarily based on the location we chose for Mami Panchita. It's a nicely located hostel and provides basic services. It's clean, has a nice appearance and provides a basic breakfast. For Dutch speakers the owners are Dutch so you could speak in your own language if your Spanish isn't really up to date.
