Walking through Country Club Lima Hotel means being a part of Lima’s history: cosmopolitan, traditional, unique. Each corner of the hotel houses a story, a legend, a mystery, as well as more than 300 works of art from the Pedro de Osma Museum, which tell the tale of the city’s past. The hotel has commenced a new phase in its history: a remodeling that emphasizes the classic architecture while highlighting a new, contemporary design tailored to the needs of the modern traveler. The result is a perfect unity of the glamour of the past and the vanguard of the present. That’s why today we are The New Classic.

If you are looking for a hotel in Lima, I would highly recommend the Country Club hotel! The hotel is centrally located, beautifully decorated and our room was comfortable and spotless! The concierge staff ( Jairo and Nelson) were excellent and went above and beyond to help us with dinner reservations and car service. My husband and I loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again when visiting Lima!

A beautiful old hotel that is exceptionally well run. The type where stuff just happens discreetly and efficiently without any fuss or drama. Luxurious lobby and public areas, spotlessly clean and timeless style. Superb large well appointed rooms that are comfortable and functional. Sumptuous beds with amazing pillows affording an excelent nights sleep. Food was high quality, fresh ingredients and well prepared and presented. Staff were great, discreet, helpful, friendly and extremely competent, a genuine credit to the management tea who were also excellent, nothing was too much trouble for our demanding group.

We stayed at the Country Club for 3 nights in May 2022. We had an amazing room that was spotless. The service and buffet breakfast was amazing. Everyone was very kind to us. As we were leaving for the airport from Lima to Cusco I accidentally left my phone in an Uber which was then returned to the hotel by my kind Uber driver. The staff were incredibly helpful. Telesforo from the concierge office gave us suggestions on how we could get the phone back since we would not be coming back to Lima and we were very lucky that Antonio from the office was coming to Cusco and he was able to bring the phone to us! The staff kept us in communication and went out of their way to help us! I was in awe of their kindness and it allowed us not to lose all of our honeymoon photos. Highly recommend this hotel if you are coming to Lima!

Beautiful centrally located hotel. Staff went out of their way to make our stay incredible. Our room was very large and comfortable with a lovely garden patio that we ate breakfast on each morning. The restaurant at the hotel was also very good. Big shoutout and thank you to Antonio Rendon at the concierge desk!

Everything is a problem is this hotel. From impolite checkin to problems at the restaurant with forgotten dishes and very slow service in general. Service is at very low level in the food and beverage division.

Nice hotel and very beautiful stain glass view in the coffee area. Despite other reviews, I experienced no concerns with staff at breakfast or supper. Service was prompt and food were very good. The room was big and clean. Despite some very noisy functions out right, it was very quiet in my room around the back. The walk to the Real Plaza Salaverry shopping mall was pleasant and safe.

We were in Lima for an anniversary trip postponed due to Covid and we were extremely well welcomed at this fantastic hotel. We stayed in a very nice suite, overlooking the golf club. Breakfast was fantastic, with options for every taste. Despite an initial small issue in the bathroom, promptly solved, we would like to thank Paula Moreno for her cordial and helpful manner. Location is great and you can easily walk to shops and restaurants very close nearby. Wish we could have stayed longer!!!!!

I really wanted to love this property -selected as an Expedia VIP member as a leading choice-- the public spaces and rooms are beautiful, comfortable and clean. The bedding is to die for, the bathrooms have every amenity and are spacious and functional. These spaces get five stars and were great. Some rooms are set in a slightly below ground level, and in these, where we stayed, there is a musty/moldy damp smell which is masked by very nice fragrance applications. If you are sensitive to damp, you definitely want to avoid these lower level rooms. We were aware of the smell, but OK with it. Some will not be. There are two main problems in the hotel which diminish it to the 3 star rating - 1) a portion of the staff (not all) seem to have little training for this level hotel, or imagine they do, but actually do not- and 2) breakfast, is an utter mess, an embarrassment. On issue 1: While initially one staff member kindly went out of their way to show us different room upgrade options as Expedia VIP members, and we were grateful (albeit no upgrade was taken), staff was mostly downhill from there. Requests for something as simple as water bottles each night were ignored, once, twice, three times, so we would get dressed and trek back to the lobby to sit around waiting for water. How does a five start hotel not manage to get a few bottles of water to a room two nights in a row? You'd think they would then try to make a gesture and comp the waters, but no, instead you get overcharged with no apology. (Down the road at the Hyatt, to which we moved, they simply handed us four bottles of water every time we walked by and asked them, no charge). Same for a shampoo bottle request.... If you imagine they are going to attempt to help you get a car anywhere, think again. The people hovering near the door are ornamental- mostly there to chat amongst themselves. No matter, Uber is good. Recommendations on the city were the most offensive staff 'contribution.' The 'helpful' young woman says 'I do not recommend you go to the main square- too dangerous' - this is followed by a detailed no-no-no-no list on every attraction in the area of the main square, some of which we seemed to know more about than her, and a commentary on the crime, and how we can't even take photos or at least don't get out of a car if we have a car take us there. "Drive by only, if you must"-- Beyond ridiculous. We listented politely to what was surely meant to be good will advice --and took an Uber to the main square, asking him to take extra funds to wait for us to see if we were in fact going to have to leave right away. We had to ask him to leave when it became clear there was no danger. We then joined the locals, saw the beautiful sights, took photos at will, and not once felt in danger. Yes, you need to do what you do in any major city -- be careful of belongings, but I felt far less at ease in regarding pickpockets at every visit in the main square in Madrid .... to have a hotel of this caliber advise against all the major sites of the historic center of its own city under the guise of 'tourist safety' is simply unprofessional and, sorry, insulting to Lima. We had a long conversation with the greeter at the Palace on the square about the guidance from this hotel-- he was sad to hear that instead of advocating for these great sites, a historic hotel is telling foreign tourists 'keep away' - instead, the young lady recommended "only Miraflores and Barranco" sites. Some desk staff at this hotel like to hover over computers and chat, sometimes not noticing guests, perhaps they can take some of this time to learn more about the sites of their city and advocate for them. On issue 2, breakfast: The buffet itself isn't much to write home about for this level hotel, but that would be IF there was any breakfast... when we arrived, 35 minutes before end, 8 of 10 bins were utterly empty. We would stand around opening the lids, hoping staff would notice everything was empty --but staff simply ignored us until we would specifically ask if something would be replenished. It seemed they wanted to not replenish at least half of these in the last 30 min, esp. the french toast/pancakes, as it took multiple conversations to finally get a few of these added. Everything was so disorganized, from seating, to all levels of service. Separate from the utter mayhem in replenishing service and cold temperature of just about every 'hot' food - the absence of any breakfast meats, sausages, etc.-- was the sad coffee and drink service. There is essentially no service. You sit around waiting and hoping for coffee, tea, anything, but keep hoping. Then you go around the dining room and fetch your own cups, and eventually three requests later, you give up and go fetch your own coffee from a jug you see standing at the wait station. No milk of course. After this self-served round, someone at another table manages to get the hostess to attend to their coffee shortage, so a waiter appears --every single time the rude, rude waiter (Gabriel, I believe, per tag) comes by, he strictly provides coffee to the uppity brand-drowned clientele at the table right next to you, and makes ZERO attempt to refill the coffee of the tables exactly next to that one. Three times he comes by to serve one group, refill their cups, and zero times a coffee refill or query for anyone else --- even as you wave your hand inches away, until you have to raise your voice and THEN, then, suddenly, service is not optional any more. Why, you ask, do you go by ONE table each time, and ignore everyone else? Some excuse is muttered, but we don't accept it. You saw us, you see us waving, you look at us, yet you just walk away. Astonishing. This is just one example of many of what unfolds over breakfast at this hotel. Clusters of staff standing about lost, uselessly in the main dining room, while diners are desperate for minimum of essentials. Simply awful service. Something else we kept noticing: In general, this is one of those establishments which hasn't quite adjusted into the modern area of equity - in that there are old ladies being rolled in with maids and nurses for their daily breakfast and scenes from old colonial rule unfold around you and the mindset has not yet adjusted to trying to move beyond surface appearances of wealth and merit. Exactly what a Leading Hotel should NOT DO: Assume you can assess a value for service level for different guests, and act with some form of tiered bias, accordingly. They have a ways to go, to earn the second part of their name (LEADING HOTELS OF THE WORLD)- but then again, perhaps this is what we should expect, based on the first part (COUNTRY CLUB) of their name! On that note, when we got the attention of the desk for our late evening pre-flight checkout, we were asked almost as an afterthought if "all was good". We responded, some was great, and some definitely not good, but that we had already gone through it, no time to re-review at this late junction. Without missing a beat, the ill-trained desk person demanded the funds for the latest water bottles-- to which I responded 'the very ones you couldn't bring, so we had to trek out here again to pick up?' Yes, he says. Then he charged us for the waters we fetched, and sent us off.

It started out well enough. A pretty lawn next to a park and high ceilings and polished floors. The room was big, and the bathroom was nice. A little damp, but we immediately turned on the AC. If that’s all you need, stay here (San Isidro is nice) instead of in Miraflores and save a few bucks. If you expect a level of service at all commensurate with a five star hotel, avoid. They were able to get us reservations at restaurants we could find on OpenTable, but nothing more, and even though we asked for four nights worth, we had to check in daily to ask again. After two nights, they just stopped helping and we figured it out ourselves. If you’re more persistent than us, Tele is probably your best bet for help here. Oh, maybe a spa treatment? None available. For the entire stay? Oh no, we just checked the first two nights. Will you check the rest? Oh, we don’t think we’ll have availability. Ok, thanks. Can you arrange a taxi or should we just use Uber? Uber, ok, why did I even ask? Again, if all you want is a room and no service, by all means stay here. But if you do, avoid the restaurants at all costs. But breakfast is included, you say? Ok, here’s what you get. Very runny eggs (islands in the stream, that is what they are) and dehydrated meats and waffles on the buffet. Cereal, but no bowls. Only the buffet is included. The juice selection is good, but once they run out, you’ll be waiting for that orange juice. Coffee? Good luck. Butter for your toast? No way! Yes, we were there during a busy time, but there were plenty of hapless waiters running around talking to each other. Maybe dinner is better? It’s not. You’ll wait forever for anything (including bread and water) and be very frustrated. The food is fine, but nothing to write home about. They do make an excellent Pisco sour, but our second round never arrived. Well, you should have complained. I did complain about the restaurant service after the second meal. They offered me a late checkout (I already had that covered) and a lot of shrugs.
