You get what you pay for...we stayed here for $7/night, which is a great rate, but the rooms were smelly and the common rooms were dark. However, the staff was super helpful and courteous and when we (3 girls) asked to change rooms because of the overwhelming smell from the boys in our room, the receptionist was courteous, helpful, and... This hostal lacks almost everything: the beds are not good, the bathroom is very basic (yes for a hostal) and there is no atmosphere whatsoever. The location is good and the staff seem friendly, apart from that we would definitely not recommend this hostel (given that prices for better hostals are the same).

This is by far the worst hotel/hostel private room I have ever entered. I have stayed at a Che Lagarto in Brazil, which I had a great experience with. That was what led me to come back to another Che Lagarto. I booked the room about two nights in advance for two nights. Finding the location was quite difficult since... More

I didn't have a pleasant experience going there. The room was noisy and sticky. all the guys were snoring, the smell was so bad taht I couldn't sleep. I had to change room and take a super expensive single room in order to have to rest after 8 hours flight. The Breakfast was also disappointing so I had to buy... More

Che Legarto totally satisfied what we were looking for in Miraflores: good location, safe, cheap and clean. Close to Pizza Alley, a supermarket, and Larcomar. Out room was basic with high ceilings. Hostel is on the 3rd floor of the building and we might not have noticed the entrance but the friendly restaurant server pointed us in the right direction.... More

Despite the three flights of stairs you have to climb when tired and lugging your bags, Che lagarto is pretty decent. I stayed in a private room, with a super comfortable bed, TV with one or two English movie channels, and a bathroom which was clean and had hot water. There was no wifi in the room, but it's not... Che lagarto is based in Mira Flores - Lima, which is a perfect area for tourists, so Much to be doing around his area; the hostel was great to me, I stayed in a private room and everything I need I managed to easily got it, specially from the helpful staff. Internet, tv, simple room, great shower. Happy to go... More

I stayed at Che Lagarto Hostel Lima for three nights. The staff are warm and friendly. They speak English which is helpful to me as my Spanish is limited. The bar staff are amazing, always striking up conversations and happy to drink a few Pisco Sours with you. There's a real South American family vibe around the hostel, which was... More

Che Lagarto is a great fun place to stay if you're looking to meet new people, stay up late, and have a strong constitution! If not... then it's a tough place to stay. The hostel is fairly loud throughout the week, and the walls/doors are paper thin. If you're a light sleeper than I am, ear plugs are a must;... More

We decided to spend our last 3 nights in Peru at the Che Lagarto, Lima hotel. The hotel is nice and clean, the rooms are a little small and the lockers under some beds are hard to access. If you're looking for a place with a party ambiance, you're not at the right place. It's real calm.
