There's not an overwhelming choice of accommodation when it comes to Iquitos to be honest and the Flying Dog is fairly reasonable and a good value stay just for a night or two. The beds are comfortable and clean and the bathrooms are decent and were always very clean. The fans were good quality and really powerful and kept the... More

We arrived at the flying dog which is a nice sized hostel with a good atmosphere. Our four bed dorm was ok for the price but very hot at night with only one fan which affected our sleep a lot. Breakfast nice and the lady was very friendly. Big downside was the tour guy who kept pressing us to book... More

I arived to the hostel very late but the stuff was very nice and welcomeing. The beds are big and good, the bathroom is not the cleanst but ok. There are rooms whit or without ac. The ac was working fine but there were water on the flor under it. The stuff was really helpful and nice, and spoke english.

We stayed at the Flying Dog on our way back from the jungle and the stay was very nice. We stayed in a dorm room with four more of people (all in the Ayahuasca preparation process but us) and overall it was quiet and we could get a good sleep. The hostel is way better as compared to others we... More

We stayed in a private room at the flying dog. We were greeted by Marcel who quickly made us feel right at home! He has a bubbly personality and goes put of his way to make sure you have all the information you need. Would recommend this place for sure! Right down the road from the shopping, resturants and perfect... More

Although Flying Dog was definitely not the knock-out amazing hostel we stayed at in South America, I still feel nostalgic thinking about it. The hostel provided all the necessities as well as being really well located. It wasn't the cleanest of places and the internet was pretty terrible, but with all its flaws, the atmosphere made up for it. The... More

Room was fine, I had the room closest to the common area so it was kinda loud at times but not a big deal. The guys who worked at the hostel went out of their way to ensure that we were safe and having a good time. They took us to a local concert and bought us beer. They warned... More

Iquitos is no sanitary town, and this hostel goes along with that vibe. It is pretty run down, and it feels kind of half-done. The owner was really nice, but there was not a lot of people and they were not very social. We had a really noisy fan, no air-con and the water pressure was terrible.

I enjoyed my stay at the Flying Dog. It's one of the main hostels of a few that backpackers pick. There is a large common area that people gather round for breakfast and dinner. It was here that I met a lot of other travellers and exchanged my stories with them picking up lots of hints and tips about my... More

Friendly hostel. The staff there makes sure to learn your name and call you by it so you seem like long time friends. The kitchen area is an open area in the middle of the hostel and it is also a hang out area, so it looks like it just a kitchen from your place back home (not a cold... More
