I was extremely apprehensive about committing to this journey. I can safely say that I am incredibly grateful to have been lucky enough to experience it here. Such amazing energy and a beautiful safe environment. The music was out of this world, no pun intended. If your ready for this experience then this is without doubt a wonderful place to take the first step. X

I had my trip planned for kawsay in May for the 7 day retreat. I am looking to go next summer or the year later but would like a full refund for now. I have tried phoning them and I left a message. I also sent them an email but I got a mail back saying their email box is full.

Response from William Menech, Owner at Kawsay Ayahuasca Retreat
Responded Apr 5, 2021
I am sorry Sean as to this situation as we had an emergency shut down here in Peru and there have been many issues that have been incredibly huge hurdles to overcome. Our office administrator that takes care of all office duties came down with Covid-19 and almost died and is no longer with us. I am William the owner of Kawsay and I am just getting into the company information and trying to get caught up on everything after being forced to close all operations by the Peruvian Government from the State of Emergency. Please contact me so we can resolve this issue and I apologize if this has caused you any inconvenience. Much love from our family to yours and I pray you and your family have been safe during these times.

In January 2020, I visited Kawsay for the second time to take part in the 7 day Ayahuasca retreat. I have had the most remarkable, profound, transformative experiences at Kawsay, and I thoroughly recommend this retreat. The location deep in the Amazon is amazing. William runs the retreat with the utmost care for guests, and incredible respect for the medicines. He has continued to invest in the facilities to provide a truly comfortable and memorable experience for retreat participants. Don Romulo and Don Winister are wonderful to work with. I could not imagine more wise, experienced, caring and loving shamans anywhere else. Together with William, Coco and the rest of the team, they ensure that ceremonies are conducted with a palpable sense of sacredness, care and healing. This is THE retreat to attend for an authentic, sacred plant medicine experience where you will be looked after like family, and indeed will become part of the Kawsay family.

I never write reviews but when I decided to go to Peru, I definitely read a lot of them to help me decide. I am so lucky to have chosen Kawsay. Before you go you really don't realize how important it is to have the right people who truly know what they are doing and are genuinely kind. Everyone at this place is completely amazing. They went above and beyond to help us all. We had someone in our group have a really difficult time, but they rallied together to help us all through it. The food, the people, the accommodations all were excellent. I can't say enough good things about this group and this retreat. Thank you for an incredible experience I will never forget.

This review is long overdue! The Kawsay Ayahuasca + San Pedro Retreat was such a beautiful experience. I really did not have a full grasp of what I was getting into, but William and his team were there every step of the way ready to explain and help in anyway possible. The experience was intense but also so beautiful at the same time. I am truly grateful I had the opportunity to experience Ayahuasca & San Pedro at Kawsay with William and his Team. The experience taught me a lot about myself and I know it will continue to do so as I heal further. I never once questioned my safety during the trip, and enjoyed every moment from the ceremonies, to the staff and excursions, it was all great. The Team there is also very attentive to what you need, and any time we expressed we needed something, they were there to help in every way possible. I highly recommend the San Pedro, if you are on the fence I say you do it. The San Pedro was the most beautiful part of the whole trip for me, I literally do not have words to describe how wonderful that experience was. If you are ready for this experience, I cannot think of a better place to have this experience. Note: this journey is about the healing and where you choose to focus your attention is what you get out of it.
