Unfortunately we spent only one night in this very clean and very confortable lodge. This lodge is with the cock of the rock the best lodge in the cloud forest because it's close to the place where you can see the cock of the rock early in the morning. The owner of the lodge put some perchs to draw hummingbirds...

The lodge itself on the river is a wonderful magical place. You are a captive audience though and the lodge has few guests. The staff - though pleasant - did the minimum for food and guests. Despite the staff, the Manu reserve is a paradise for birders. Just a simple walk along the (only) road is marvelous.

We stayed here because Cock of the Rock was full. It was not too bad a second. The lodge has no trails of its own, but this was not a problem for us as we had already birded at Cock of the Rock Lodge and were now planning on birding on the Manu Road itself. The rooms were large and...

We had read it, no luck for us. We were there for the weekend, despite the best efforts of Mr. (forgot his name) on doing everything for us alone, and he was really nice person, he could compensate the fact that the cook arrived one day later and the meals were as good as instantaneous noodles. Cook arrived, meals changed...

I travelled the Manu Road solo on a motorbike. December is the middle of the Rainy Season - no time to visit this part of the world. It rains every day almost non-stop and can get very cold at higher elevations too. After a long day birding and a horrendous downpour, I parted with the extortionate amount of US$150 for...

Oh my god, such a stunning serene place with the best views ever. Great rooms with comfy beds amazing hot water, (which is very rare here), and was lovely and clean. Great food and hospitality from the staff, that knew so much about the animals and sourounding areas. It has a real wine bar feel in the restaurant with great...

This is a small (7 rooms) lodge in the Cloud Forest in Manu National Park. About the only way to get there is with the Lodge personnel. I don't think private vehicles are allowed in the Park. It is a long days drive from Cusco and not for the faint of heart. Much of the road is one-way (up one...

“All the rooms looked pretty much the same except the 'Matrimonial Room' situated above the restaurant. Do mind the stairs and pathways - they are extremely slippery being covered in moss and algae.”
