Casa San Blas is the first Boutique Hotel in Peru since 2003. Our cozy and intimate colonial house located in San Blas mingles the comfort and luxury with the customized service so you feel as home. Our philosophy in Casa San Blas, moreover, is that our guests have a real contact and experience with our traditions and knowledge. Thus, our guests admire elements of Peruvian culture such as traditionally hand-made weavings which are showcased throughout all our rooms and halls. We have also built a terrace balcony on the third floor to allow great views of the city of Cusco both day and night.

Stayed for three nights - used it as a base location while toured Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu. Very central to main historic center of Cusco, restaurants, coffee, Jacks on the corner etc. Tika restaurant at the front which is good as well. Very helpful staff, very comfortable beds and of course you get a little surprise - a hot water bottle at night!

We just finished a amazing but grueling trip through the sacred valley and Machu Picchu, my parents weren’t feeling their best, the hotel staff did a great job meeting their whims and needs over our three nights of stay. The hotel room was rustic and charming with great morning and night view of the ande mountains. I personally love the central location of the hotel as it allowed me to run around the city every morning. Especially thanks to Kei and Luis and all the staff for making us feel welcome and taught me some local delicacies like Ponche and tongue of the mother in law (which was delicious)

The location near the top of the hill provides beautiful views of the city, as well as easy access to cafes and restaurants nearby as well as down the hill at the main square, Plaza de las Armas. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and the hotel is very clean.

We checked in to the hotel and we were notified that our booking was accidentally made for two people instead of three, so they said they were charging us an additional $30 per day ($90 total + hotel room original cost) for the extra person. We did not need an upgraded room or any have to make any reservation changes and our room was $80 per night to begin with, so this seemed a bit steep for simply having one extra person in the room. We enjoyed the hot packs room service leaves in your room at night. The room was small, but was perfectly fine since we did not have much luggage. The hotel always felt clean and was in a good central location. Most of the tours will not pick up from this hotel, because the roads are too narrow for a bus. The bathroom clogs easily and the tv did not work. When we checked out for our early flight, we woke up the desk worker to tell them we were leaving. He did not speak English well. He pulled out a small plastic wrapped bag from below the desk with some mud on it and said they found this in our room and had to charge us extra for it and we had to pay right now before we leave. They wanted us to stop and pay $4 for this towel before we could check out for our 6 am flight. This was frustrating, because our ride was waiting for us outside. This left a bad taste in our mouth and the whole situation seemed pretty petty. The hotel seemed to be the place that wants to nickel and dime you for every little thing.

We booked the senior suite with a special promotion. We were exhausted from the inca trail and really looking forward to our stay. When arriving at the hotel, they gave us a regular room (not the suite). The (unfriendly) lady at the reception said the suite was booked already and that we couldn't stay there. They gave us a discount of 10 dollars (after a discussion of 20 minutes), but we were really bummed out since the suite was the reason we chose this hotel. The reception lady gave no explanation at all and didn't seem to care. Despite this issue, it was a good hotel. The location is great (not far from Plaza de Armas), the breakfast was delicious, the room was clean and the day staff was very friendly. Big thanks to Nestor and Kayla, who were very helpful and apologized about the issues with the reservation. They even offered to pay our taxi to the airport. If it wasn't for the reservation issues, this would have been a 5 star review.
