Friendly, helpful staff and good, full breakfast included. A favorite of trekkers on the Inca Trail. This lovely hostal is a short hike up San Blas, providing it with a beautiful view overlooking the city. Each room gives on to a balcony or patio with a view. The rooms are small but very comfortable, nice bathrooms, TV and phone. We...

I have traveled to Cusco, Peru and Macchu Picchu on three separate occasions. Additionally, I have traveled extensively throughout the countries of Peru and Ecuador. I can say without a doubt, this is the best hostel I have stayed in, and I believe it is the best possible value for your money. Do not be fooled into staying in an...

Amaru Hostal was recommended by friends and I'm glad. This place went above and beyond my expectations. Complimentary breakfast, unlimited coca tea, outstanding service, clean bedrooms & bathrooms, hot water, daily housekeeping and the list goes on. I felt completely comfortable and safe staying here. They even have a beautiful courtyard where you can sit and relax. It's the perfect...

We selected Amaru I for our Cusco/Machu Picchu hiking adventure vacation. It is a beautiful hostal with terrific views. The staff was so helpful with all our needs and requests and I would recommend Amaru I to anyone. It was extremely clean with private bathrooms. They even stored our luggage for 4 days while we hiked the Inca Trail to...

This hostal is centrally located on San Blas where you'll find plenty of artisans, and a 5-minute walk to Plaza des Armas. The breakfast that's included is very good, with eggs and fruit (might account for the price too), the hostal is charming and generally quiet. Staff is also helpful. Coca tea is available all day at no charge; a...

Out of the 4 hotels I stayed in Cusco the Amaru (both I and II) were my favourites. They both have a beautiful outdoor garden, more like an arab patio, giving them a very relaxed atmosphere. At night the lighting was beautiful too. There are some rooms with a view to the garden and some without, the first were the...

We love this hotel. The driver greeted us right outside of the airport, after 10 mins, we arrived this small but charming hotel. Hotel staffs were all very nice and spoke English. They did try to convince us to stay in Amaru II after our Machu Picchu trip, however I insisted to stay in the same hotel. In the end,...

We stayed here 3 nights during our 4 day stay in the cusco/sacred valley area. B&B is in the San Blas area 2-3 blocks from the plaza de armas. We arrived at 6am after an overnight bus ride and they showed us right to our room. Hotel is cute with the rooms surrounding 2 open courtyards. The rooms we stayed...
