This hotel was very basic. The breakfast was very poor, the food was cold, the burners were not on, those underneath the food that was meant to be hot. The food containers were not replenished, the tables were not cleared, some areas were dirty from previous guests. The staff just couldn't be bothered!

Stayed here 4 nights, 2 nights before heading out to the scared valley and then 2 nights on return. I was on a spiritual retreat with a Shaman, so I did not choose the hotels. The First room was better than the second one. The second one was very noisy, could hear everything going on in dining area and lobby area. Overall it was Clean, fairly comfortable beds. Breakfast was pretty good, decent variety and clean. Needed oxygen one night in the middle of the night as I felt Ill( I think it was altitude sickness) but they didn’t have any, which is something e every hotel in Cusco should have ready for its clients. The concierge guy did run out and get some for me from another hotel but I had to wait about 1/2 hour with nausea and dizziness. The next day another person in our group needed oxygen and once again they didn’t have any !! So the unpreparedness was kind of disappointing. The lobby area was nice and had a cool looking area to sit in, but it was always cold as the front door was always open and cold air constantly entered the area. Not a comfortable area to hang out in for this reason. Location was ok. Walking distance to main square. Bit wouldn’t be my choice of locations..the San Blas area was much more interesting for me. Overall it was an OK place to stay. But I wouldn’t choose it.

The hotel is quite well located, on a main avenue and about500 yards from the historic centre squares, cathedral, churches, restaurants, market etc. Rooms overlooking the avenue have views to the old Inca temple but can be noisy. Clean and comfortable, friendly, good breakfast in otherwise quiet restaurant.

We stayed here on two different nights with a Machu Picchu visit between them. First of all we found hotel staff very friendly and they even recognised us on our return. Decor is quirky Inca style, but in a good way! The first night we were in a standard double. Compared to other hotels around Peru, the room was substandard and the bed was tiny. Fixtures and fittings were tired and dated, for example a toilet seat hanging off the toilet. The second night we were upgraded to a deluxe suite which was more roomier and a much larger bed. However, it was still tired and dated. Breakfast was fine, but less choice than others we stayed at around Peru. One thing that needs to change is 8.30am checkout time. Doesn't make any sense when breakfast lasts until 10! Both times we asked for late checkout of 9.30 which the staff accepted and said the checkout time was company policy, which is strange as we stayed in another San Augustin in Urubamba and check out there was 10am.... This hotel reminds me of many I stay in in central London. You're paying for location more than the room, and location here is very good as its 5 mins from the main square.
