We had five rooms. Everyone loved their rooms. Very nicely decorated in Peru’s style. The lobby was very nice with a side meeting area and a beautiful courtyard. They had a great breakfast and a separate bar and restaurant. We enjoyed watching the Super bowl in the bar and they even stayed a little overtime so we could all see the End of the game. Loved everyone. Would stay there again.
This is what you call a good boutique hotel. Firstly the staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble, and always with a smile. Set only about a ten minute walk from the main town square, the rooms are spacious and clean, the sitting area in the courtyard is lovey, with live music during what is effectively a happy two hours. The breakfast is excellent as too is the food in the lovely restaurant, and very reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommended in every way.
This was a fantastic hotel. WE stayed here twice (a total of 3 nights). The location is quite central, the hotel decor is quite nice. The service is excellent - they take good care of the guests. The rooms were nice, really comfy beds and quality bedding. But the most amazing thing was the shower One of the best showers I have been in in my whole life - hot and powerful Great after coming in from a day of hiking to refresh before going out on the town. They also have a relally nice restaurant and bar. A great choice in Cusco!
The El Mercado is a quaint hotel located in walking distance to the Cusco center. The staff is exceptional and the service is 5 star. The rooms are comfortable, decorated in a Peruvian style. However, every convenience that a traveler would expet is available. .
This was a beautiful hotel that was recommended by our Peruvian guide. We stayed here before we had to return to the airport the next morning. We were weary from our all day excursion at Machu Picchu and this was a very nice place to relax. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was quite large.
El Mercado is a great hotel, great breakfast! Big kudos to Andy! Great guy, nice and helpful! The hotel is clean, central, comfortable, beds are great, would come back any time. Spent a total of three nights.
We stayed here for 2 nights then done the inca train and come back for another night. The hotel is lovely with very friendly helpful staff, it's nicely located close to the main square and everything is walking distance, breakfast was nice with a chilled relaxed vibe that I like in the mornings.
We stayed here several nights at the beginning and the end of our visit to Peru. What wonderful staff are at El Mercado! The rooms were well maintained and we loved the alpaca blankets that were on the bed. The breakfast room included a buffet, juice cart, and cooked to order eggs or crepes. Hot beverages include coca tea, coffee, hot chocolate, teas. They refilled our water bottles every morning so we were set for our day. Bottled water is also provided in the rooms. In the late afternoon a staff member brings tiny baskets of chocolates or other sweet treats up to the room which is a welcoming touch. El Mercado has both a bar and a restaurant. They have a happy hour which includes 2 for 1 pisco sours (they make good ones). The bar sitting area looks out to the courtyard which has seating (with alpaca blankets) around a fire pit. Live music is provided every night. We ate at least one dinner here and found the food very good. The location is very good with just a short walk to restaurants, shops, and the squares.…
We stayed several nights here before and after our visit to the mountain areas. The hotel is very clean, pleasant, the staff was marvelous and helped me out with several needs that travelers always encounter. The breakfast has great variety and was awesome! We also had several dinners there and they were really good!! The location was close to walk into the squares and to do any type of shopping you would like to do. I would recommend this hotel!
Excellent start and finish of our tour to Peru. The Mercado will be a go back to place and will use REI again too. Another great source for tours of Peru is www,andeanSolofperu.com. All of the guides in Peru are freelancers and one of our guides has started this company. One of the best guides we have had on many international and domestic tours.
