I just wanted to thank Daniel, Mauricio, Carolina and Jesus as just a few of the staff who were extremely kind and thoughtful throughout our stay... my friend Darrell had a sprained ankle from hiking Machu Picchu and they all went out of their way to make him as comfortable as possible every single day. We had a slight issue with our room but they gave us a new room immediately to resolve the issue and we left knowing we'll come back in the future, simply because of the brilliant service. The food is also of the highest quality and I'd like to try everything on the menu but we didn't have enough time. Thank you and great work.

Loved this Hotel and all of it! The building, the energy, decoration, food everything!! Our room was nice but the bathroom nicer. Great products and ammenities. The bar has live music and great pisco cocktails. Also all around the property you can hear gregorian chants in the background. Breakfast is a feast and set up very nice the best to have in the patio and its views. I had a great massage on the treatments area that came out ultra relaxed. The location was awesome as I had among the best restaurants of all Cusco just a few steps away. If I come back would stay here again happily!

Disclaimer: I actually stayed in October 2018 but in light of Covid, I’m revisiting as many of the great hotels I previously stayed at to hopefully help their bottom line when travel begins to resume. My amazing experiences with the Belmond brand include: - Hotel Monasterio - Andean Explorer Train - Sanctuary Lodge (Machu Picchu) - Hiram Bingham Train - La Samanna (St. Martin) I made my way here after 3 days aboard the Belmond Andean Explorer. The train manager, Arnaldo, was kind enough to call ahead for a room upgrade on my behalf. I was a solo, female traveler, mid-30s, on my trip to Peru. I felt extremely safe and well taken care of by all the Belmond staff during my trip. Here are my highlights: - Every corner of the hotel, especially the artwork and artifacts, is stunning. - They light a fire in the inner courtyard and play chants in the evening. It’s completely intoxicating. And the conference room is incredible; a must-see. So much to admire. How anyone could focus on a meeting in there is beyond me! - The breakfast is perfect, offering a wide array of healthy choices (which is great since there are a lot of people staying here before their hike up to Machu Picchu). - The entire staff is incredibly friendly and professional. - The hotel is perfectly situated; just a block or two away from the main square so it’s more quiet but everything is just a few steps away. Very much looking forward to another visit here. 5 stars! A+++!

This luxury hotel is conveniently located at the heart of Cusco. The hotel is close to many places of interest for anyone visiting Cusco. The rooms are comfortable and the property is beautiful. The property has a baroque chapel that gives it a special touch. The food was extraordinary, but even more extraordinary was the friendliness of the staff. Definitely an ideal place to return.

We have traveled all over the world and this is one of the most wonderful and magical places at which we've stayed. The rooms are breathtaking, incredibly appointed, with original art in the rooms and throughout this historic property. The restaurant (while not surprisingly very pricey) is superb. The included breakfast was amazing. The grounds and building are magical and very historic. There is a great deal of original art throughout the monastery. One of the highlights of our entire trip through South America was an art tour that the front desk arranged for us upon request. Edgar is a wonderful and very knowledgable man who took a great deal of time to relate to us the history of the Inca people, the Spanish invasion and the art that reflects this deep and rich history. He guided us through the grounds showing us wonderful features of both the buildings and the original art that we'd never have known had we not gone on this tour with him. While it was scheduled for an hour, he took much more time with us. He has a real passion for the history and art and relates it all with clarity and enthusiasm. Edgar also struck us as a tremendously friendly, interesting and kind man. WELL WORTH the cost for the tour...if you're interested in history, art, learning about all of this from a man who grew up near Cusco, you should take time to do this.
