The building is fascinating and the grounds are soothing and beautiful. It is in an excellent location for walking to the plaza. The chapel was historic though I wished for some historic written information. I was told though that any member of the staff could give a tour. The breakfast was a wonderful buffet.

A beautiful sanctuary with impeccable, yet friendly, service. Dinner on Opera Night was delightful and delicious. My favorite moments include a warm welcome when reentering, a birthday surprise at breakfast, and relaxing with drinks in the beautiful gardens. This is an outstanding oasis in the middle of Cusco!

Not the 5 star I expected. I need windows and natural light. I feel since I was solo I was put in an inferior room. I had to climb over a desk and get in the bath to climb onto the window sill to open a shutter to get just a tiny bit of daylight.

Dear Gerricaputo, Thank you for having taken the time to share with us your recent experience and insights, we would have liked to know that while you were here in order to make our best effort for you to feel comfortable. It is always our intention to exceed the expectations of every guest. Therefore, I am concerned and disappointed to read that we were not able to do so during your recent stay with us regarding your comments about the room facilities, since Monasterio A Belmond Hotel is part of the national heritage we have strong limitations about the architecture, we are taking actions to set this important details and improve our service. Once again, thank you for sharing your constructive feedback with us. As soon as we entered the lobby of the hotel we were truly looked after. We had a late train and therefore were extremely tired. Roger who was exceptional saw that we were tired and said we could go to our rooms and he would check us in. The service we received over the next few days was excellent, the Belmond hotels are known for this. All the staff made us feel like home and nothing was any trouble. A cake was organised for my son's 21st which was a lovely gesture. Roger definitely made the holiday for us. Thank you

Mosastario Hotel Staying here is like being in a museum filled with art and antiques. It’s fantastic and might be my favorite hotel of all time! Usual Belmond greeting at the door and then comfortably checked in at the lounge. Architecture and art throughout is amazing. Large room with excellent bed and linens. Even larger bathroom. Strong Wi-Fi. Great location in heart of downtown near cathedral and plaza along with shopping. Did I mention art and the architecture located through this historical and updated property? If in Cusco…ya gotta stay here! Yes yes yes.

We are extensive travelers and the Monasterio in Cusco delivered total perfection , joy and magic on our 3 day stay. This hotel rivals any luxury hotel anywhere. You immediately feel the history and stories of the generations that have come before in this historic hotel. The staff and service is what sets this hotel apart from others.Unrivaled service and effort from everyone here. We had so many memorable personal interactions! Luxury and beauty is all around. The food was delicious, creative and always a work of art on presentation. A heartfelt thank you for one of our most romantic and memorable stays ever. We will look for more Belmont properties now.

Our FAVORITE HOTEL in Peru. The environment is so very intimate and tranquil. Best Service! The staff is extremely friendly. Ronald, the Bell man, was especially helpful and personable to us. Concierge services made all restaurant reservations and got us the best tables in each of the restaurants. Best breakfast we had the entire trip. Wish we could have stayed longer!!!!

Jose M Montoya wrote a review Sep 2022
New York City, New York29 contributions42 helpful votes
I will try to give a quick, object and honest review that is fair to Monasterio Cusco and the hotels staff. I was surprised by my partner, with a trip from New York to Cusco, to celebrate my birthday this past week (Sep 3) After an amazing time spent in the heart of the Quechua/Inca territory, visiting some of the most impressive sacred places built by this powerful civilization, in the Valle Sagrado de los Incas, and it’s neighboring Andean mountains (like Machu Picchu) we arrived in Cusco, to spend 2 nights at El Monasterio. I have dreamed about this hotel for decades (I am not kidding) I honestly came prepared to be disappointed as my expectations were ridiculously high, and yet, nothing could have prepared me for the most authentic and Impeccable hotel experience I encountered…only comparable with Oberoi Amarvilas, in Agra, 10 years ago. True sense of destination in every aspect of that concept. Every member of this hotel’s team (and I mean EVERYONE) made us feel truly at home. They delivered the highest levels of service in the most professional and yet, personal and genuine way. From the fantastic and enriching conversations with servers at breakfast time or over cocktails at the lobby bar; to the sincere “welcome back Mr. Montoya” every time when met the doorman, retuning from enjoying the city. Even the way they surprised me, one morning at 1 am, while I was walking through the garden, trying not to panic because I was so short of breath (Altitude 11,152’). They immediately brought me to the lobby, for me to comfortably receive oxygen, during 20 minutes, in a very comfortable chair, from where I got up like brand new (until the next uphill walk will remind me of this city’s altitude) There is just no way I could be everywhere else, in Cusco, when I come back, which I will for sure. Thank you Monasterio Cusco for an unforgettable stay!
