This is such an amazing Marriott property. Not only because of the incredible history of the place, but because of the amazing service. We traveled during the pandemic and the hotel was quiet, so the staff seized the opportunity to pamper us, given my platinum status at Marriott. They really made us feel like Inca royalty giving us super nice upgrades and amenities. Definitely “the place” to stay when in Cusco. Worth every penny. Special thanks to Solange and her gift: the book about the history of ‘El Convento’. Such a nice book that will take a special place in my home’s coffee table. 🥰
We stayed in JW just after Christmas, on our way to Urubamba. It was a 3 night stay and we have all enjoyed it very much! As soon as you enter trough the huge massive wooden door and smell that signature JW smell... your brain takes you back to the last vacation... ohhh how much we have missed it!!! Hotel hosts lots of different events (We did not opt for paid tours due to social distancing and we enjoyed exploring Cusco on our own. With kids it’s a bit more tricky). Hotel had a wonderful tour that we booked in adnavce- a visit to a local chocolate shop. They showed us all the process, we tried some of their delicious products... it was both interesting for the kids and educational for us. We were joined by the JW chef, he is lots of fun as well and gave us some great tips! Another day we had pisco sour classes, and also a tour of the hotel grounds with our guide Jesus! (Some very interesting findings on the grounds!) well worth the wait! We enjoyed the pool in the nights (by appointment only so you get it all to yourself!! 🙌🏻 ) Breakfast was delicious!! Panchito was the star there! Dinner as well (pizza to lick the fingers off!) Social distancing at All times!! Hand sanitizers everywhere... masks ! It was a truly stress free experience in this stressful times!! Comments from other guests were all the same; we feel so good and safe! We know we are well protected here! Looking forward to visiting JW Cusco again!…
I loved this hotel! we arrived early, and the staff was so accommodating, they gave us a room early, let us enjoy an amazing breakfast, and got to hold a baby alpaca. This hotel has very luxurious rooms, very clean, attentive staff, and free breakfast. It has a nice spa as well that we didn't get to use due to time contains. The restaurant and bar in the hotel is also very nice, with good food and yummy Pisco sours. The staff went out of their way to help us, special the lady in the front called Nataly even helped with calling our hotel for lima for us. I would definitely stay again.
Gorgeous hotel with an outstanding service. My family felt safe with all the hotel COVID-19 practices and precautions. Location is perfect and Qespi Restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner is delicious! Also, the hotel tour by Wendel, Pisco Class by Fredy, and the selfie with the Alpaca are a must to do during your stay. I had an exceptional experience at this hotel. They went above and beyond to support me with my Machu Picchu tour delays. Thank you for being the best hotel of my Peru trip!
The hotel is gorgeous and has a really great ambiance. After spending a week in the rural Amazon, this was total luxury!! The rooms were clean and spacious. We enjoyed using the pool and hot tub a couple of evenings. The pool area is somewhat small compared to other big hotels, but it never seemed crowded. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The location of the hotel was great for walking around town. Tons of restaurants and shops in the area. The staff were all very kind and helpful. They were also able to accommodate storing our luggage for a couple days while we hiked and toured Machu Picchu. Would highly recommend!
