The Hotel Aranwa is located 2 blocks from the main square and undoubtably one of the most beautiful hotels in the City. From the moment you arrive you will think you entered a museum. The period pieces and artwork are all original and when we entered the room (more appropriately, suite), we were breathtaken. The bath floors have radiant heat and the antique bathtub was heavily adorned in gold. The rooms have a system to increase the oxygen concentration which eliminates high altitude headaches and associated problems. The staff is extremely courteous and always ready to help with any questions. If you have been to Denver CO. and had no problems with altitude, remember Cusco is located at almost 13,000 ft.
In summary, if you choose Hotel Arawna Cusco you have undoubtably made the right choice. I have included photos of the entry and only one of the first floor sitting areas.
Additionally, we stayed in another Aranwa hotel in the Sacred Valley which was as breathtaking as the Cusco Hotel. In fact the Sacred Valley hotel being more rural is located on enormous grounds so they also have a spa, church, river and Alpacas on the property.

First of all, the hotel could not be better situated, right near the center. Ideal for eating out, shopping, sight seeing etc.
Set in a courtyard, our room was situated on the ground floor, with I think, just one more level. Inside was a very good size bedroom, with a large bathroom which included a multi head shower and jacuzzi bath. Because of the altitude of Cusco, oxygen is regulated into the bedroom, so make sure you keep your bathroom door shut, especially at night.
Meals are very good and they will go out of their way to accommodate any requests, ie. early start due to visiting Machu Pichu.
There is a hotel tour (done by radio set) which was very interesting.
The hotel staff are very obliging and overall I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Dear Mr. Kennyg345 Thank you very much for your lovely words through TripAdvisor. We were so pleased to know you enjoyed your time with us and you had a wonderful experience in Cusco. Some of our added values is the oxigen inside the room and our location a few minutes away from the Main Square and other tourist attractions. I agree with you, human support is something that characterizes this hotel, each of them are valuable, professional, obliging, nice, they love what they do and it is reflected in your satisfaction and make you feel at home away from home. We truly hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back sometime in the near future. Thank so much for your preference. On behalf of Romy Diaz LeĆ³n and the team at Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel.

We stayed here for two nights following a visit to Machu Picchu. The hotel is centrally located in the center of Cusco and was a former palace. The Spanish and old-world charm makes for wonderful stay. The room was a little small but nicely decorated and the modern bathroom provided all the necessary amenities including a heated floor. The staff and bellmen were always available and eager to assist with any request.

I am a seasoned traveler and this trip to Peru after/during the pandemic I wanted to spend my dollars locally not with large corporate entities, I am glad I did. Aranwa was the perfect mixture of luxury and Inca influence I sought out. Beds weā€™re very comfortable, oxygen pipped into the rooms, bathrooms with local granite and jetted tub. I walked by a room and saw a housekeeper cleaning the room, she had on hairnet, gloves, masks, and was disinfecting everything. Augusto at the front desk helped me with a dozen differ things but the best was a phone charger adapter in a snap! Igor in the bar made a wicked Pisco sour and as a sommelier I have had my share. He also educated me in the menu and guided me to some excellent choices! Igor also had an abundance of information on altitude and the effects which cleared up a lot of internal questions I had. The hotel is covered in beautiful local art. They have coco leaves and warm water to help with the effects of altitude sickness. Breakfast every morning was a mixture of American delights and Peruvian flavors, itā€™s all included!!!!
I highly recommend this stay!

From the moment we stepped out of our cab we were greeted with smiles and welcomes. I can't say enough about the staff. Friendly, informative and anticipating your needs before you even realize it. They all work well as a team and it shows.

When we enquired about a place for massages, the front desk happily booked massages for us at a neighboring spa and they even went so far as to arrangement transportation and from. Greatly appreciated.

Rooms are spacious, beds comfy and options of a/c or heat along with fresh oxygen being pumped into your room. Wifi works well and love the heated floors in the bathroom as well as the jacuzzi tub. Water gets nice and hot.

Breakfast is amazing with a wide assortment and eggs cooked the way you would like and the staff are super attentive. Fresh flowers are everywhere throughout the hotel and their fragrance will leave you smiling.

Fabulous location in the heart of the many beautiful town squares and historic buildings. Many restaurants within walking distance.

If you love great service, a hotel with charm and warmth ... then you have found it.

This beautiful hotel pretty much has it all.
A great location, next to the historic centre, close to lots of shops, restaurants and mini markets.
Unwaveringly excellent staff and the food isn't bad either.
The rooms are pressurised with 30% oxygen which helps with the altitude sickness.
I loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom.
Breakfast is good and generously served between 5am and 10am. It includes fresh fruit, juice, cereal, yoghurt, danishes, eggs how you like them, oriental savoury dishes, pancakes, French toast, sausage, bacon and gluten free options.
I recommend the fresh orange juice, hot chocolate and poached eggs.
I saw lots of coach parties arrive and stay just one night, which is a shame, I was lucky enough to spend a week.
I found the 9am checkout to be harsh but most of your connecting flights, trains and buses do leave early in the morning.

Staff are so helpful - rooms clean with separate large bathroom with whirlpool bath and separate shower. Bathroom has under floor heating which was a nice plus. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The hotel is located in a quiet street but is only a five minute stroll (max) to the main square and to many restaurants and shops. Rooms have oxygen piped into them, free coco tea is available all day to give you energy and Mundo (or something similar) to help you relax before bedtime. Breakfast selection was good.

Aranwa hotel exceeded our expectations! The staff was excellent and delivered amazing service. They really went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Everyone was super friendly and made us feel welcome.
Book through their website directly for the best rate.
There was a small hiccup at the beginning with the airport pickup, but the hotel more than rectified it. They didn't charge us for the taxi service as the driver didn't show up so we had to wait for another one and they also upgraded us to a suite room. I think these kinds of things set apart a good hotel from a great one. They pay attention to detail.
The breakfast food was tasty and there was a reasonable selection. Many hotels in the US have stopped serving breakfast entirely using COVID as a scapegoat, but two years into the pandemic I think it's mostly a cost savings measure. At Aranwa, only the staff was allowed to touch the utensils and they plated our food for us.
Our room was beautiful as was the rest of the hotel. I enjoyed walking around and looking at the various artwork. Our suite even had a painting from the 18th century.
There are other cheaper places to stay at in Cusco, but don't think twice because your money will be well spent. Thank you to all of the staff at Aranwa!

This hotel beyond exceeded our expectations. We were greeted with coca tea and our bags were delivered to our room for us. The decorations and museum-like atmosphere were really cool and beautiful. The rooms were amazing, we felt like we were sleeping in a palace. The beds were so confortable and the big draw was the amazing bathroom with separate tubs and showers (both with amazing features) and heated floors. The view from the balcony was great and the location is so centralized we never had more than a 10 minute walk anywhere. The room service food wasnā€™t bad, but it wasnā€™t exceptional either. But other than that I highly recommend staying here!

My friend and I stayed at Aranwa for three nights on our way to Machu Picchu. The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and helpful in arranging restaurant and transport reservations. Our room was upgraded free of charge and was very comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was hearty and started early for those going on day trips. The location is great because it's close to the historic plaza and walking distance from all of the sites.

A special thank you to our friend Guido of the hotel staff who was very hospitable.

Hi We did Rainbow mountain and the Inca Trail. We did not do Humantay lake in July 2019. Rainbow mountain is tough because it is very high, so make sure you are in good shape. A lot of people used horses to get to near the top and then walked the final bit or some just stopped at the horse drop off zone. It is a full day trip and about 3 or so hours from Cusco by bus. We booked independently. The tour operator we used was Quechuas Expeditions Peru S.A.C Office Address: SAN JUAN DE DIOS STREET # 295 (PLAZA REGOCIJO) TOWN SQUARE - CUSCO They were very good and very professional. I would highly recommend them. Cost would vary on group size I would say, ours was USD70 per pax. We had a large group and had our own Renault Master minivan for the day.
