My partner and I spent 6 nights (over 2 occasions either side of a trek) here in April 2012, and were very happy with our stay. Our double room with en-suite cost $27 USD a night. We weren't sure why, but we didn't get free pick-up, or egg and juice included in our breakfast, like some others did, but we...

We stayed for three nights at el tuco hostel and we had a double with shared bathroom. We booked it because of the good tripadvisor rating. It is on a very busy road intersection with lots of noise from traffic so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. This also depends on which side your room is. Beds are...

Coco and his family are truly fantastic hosts! Coco met us as we got off our bus, assisted us with our Machu Picchu planning and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The hostel location is perfect (around a 10min walk from the city centre), the room was very comfortable and clean, showers were lovely and hot, towels and breakfast included,...

We stayed here for 3 nights before our trek and 1 night after. The owner Coco, is so helpful and friendly. The hostel is about a 10 minute walk to the main square, its super clean with a nice ensuite bathroom. Good price and you can keep your bags in storage whilst on the trek. It's a great place to...

We booked into El Tuco for 1 night and ended up staying for 12! Coco is a great host and made us feel at home in his place. The facilities are excellent, the rooms are huge and comfortable and the price is unbeatable! The location was fine for us, it is a little walk (less than 10 minutes) into the...

We stayed at this location 3 nights. 1 before we headed to Aguas Caliente and 2 after we got back. They stored our surplus luggage for us while we traveled the country for no charge; not many places will do that. The owner CoCo was helpful and his english is good enough that you do not have to know Spanish...

Spent 5 nights altogether at El Tuco before our Machu Pitchu Jungle Tour and after. The Hostel is in a beautiful renovated old building, and the rooms are spacious and clean. It had a chilled out atmosphere and a nice breakfast and kitchen area. Co Co (the owner) was amazing in helping us to know the City, great local places...
