We stayed at Hostal Mallqui for 3 nights before we hiked the Inca Trail. They have coca tea in the reception area, 24 hour reception, and free luggage holding. Room was clean and comfortable, but very cold! You have to rent a heater if you want one ($1 USD a night). Water pressure in showers was decent but not great... More

Reasonably priced hotel for what you get, which is: A clean, big room (we had the one with private bathroom) best beds during our travel in Peru! Breakfast above average, although served in a cold room. Kind receptionists who speak English very well. Could think of one downside:WiFi only in Lobby and reception and only good on certain places.

Went with my girlfriend, and it was very nice and comfortable. Rooms were quite big, the prices are OK. Breakfast are awesome, they serve you like a king. They receive you with Mate de Coca to avoid soroche.

Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Nice inside garden. The breakfast was just average, served in a cold room. The hostal is close to Plaza de Armas, just a few blocks, however the neighborhood is kind of isolated without many restaurants or stores.

My travelling companions and I stayed here after our 4-day Salkantay trek for on night before travelling on to Lima. I'll caveat this by saying that we were really unlucky and faced a series of unfortunate events that mean we would recommend not going anywhere near this hostel given the other good options available in Cusco. However, I can see... More

I wish I could give this hostel 5 stars because 90% or our experience was excellent. We stayed a total of 4 nights, leaving and returning after a short stay in the sacred valley and then the 4-day inca trail trek. The ladies on staff were extremely pleasant and remembered us. They went out of their way to help us... More

After living in Peru for five months and staying in many hostels/hospedajes, this one has been BY FAR the best. The three of us shared a private room at the beginning and end of our Incan Trail Trek and loved it. The hostel itself is very charming, the room was clean and well-supplied, the bathroom (unlike ALL the other places... More

So, the hostal is very clean and shiny. Every day they are cleaning everywhere. Even the plants are shinning. We stayed there on our way to Macchu Picchu and when we returned. Breakfast was nice and plenty, fresh orange juice, eggs, fruit salad. The lady who served it was very attentive and seemed to remember everything I like. Milagros, the... More

Stayed in dorm room meeting nice travellers. Host Milah is very helpful and friendly and speaks good English. Arranged my MachuPicchu and Rainbow mountain trips via the hostel at a good price without the need to shop around. Room and place is clean. Breakfast is decent and filling, definitely worth the money value. Hot shower, yes, yes. Quite strong wifi... More

We loved our stay at Mallqui! We stayed in a private double and it had a great view of the garden. It was by far our best hostel in all of Peru. It was quiet and clean and the people working there were very friendly. Awesome value for the low price of $30 a night. Highly recommend it!
