We had a really great experience at this hostel. The staff were kind and helpful and the rooms were massive! The shower was decent and the location was perfect, really near the main square with all the restaurants etc. Highly recommend!

Staff here are an asset to the hostal. Reception staff knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Great information about activities around and about with honest opinion about weather affecting rainbow mountain. Lady serving breakfast was really lovely. Rooms clean with hot showers, good breakfast.

Very bad experience. Not a good feeling since the beginning. We got stolen 20€ and 50$ in our locked bags in a private room that was locked as well. When we got back from our day of visit, the bags had moved and the position of our lockers had changed. We decided to leave the place right away on the first night at around 11pm since we did not feel the place (only the staff has the key of the room). No commercial gesture on the first night that we did not even use. It took a week to get the other two nights reimbursed. In total we lost around 70$ + a night. We do not recommend.

I found this en route to my original booked hostel. I arrived a day early and after seeing (and smelling) the backpackers hostel I booked I can say this was cheaper, definitely cleaner, with in room bathroom/shower. And somewhat similar to another reviewer I didn't cancel my other room but spent the time here. Rooms various room types 4 person bunk style, 2 queen, 1 king. Each room with TV and DVD player. It was not very booked so I got an incredible low rate which might have also been part of the reason as well as off season in general. It is on direct bus line from Airport. The only reason It did not get a 5 rating is there is a minor 1.50 Sole (.50 U.S.) kitchen charge. I am familiar with charges for towels, lockers, locks etc but never a kitchen charge. Since I didn't pay I am not sure if it's each day or one time. They arranged a taxi for me to get to airport and simply put payment on my bill for convenience. .

I really had a nice time at Hostal mallqui, a hot shower with pressure, a heating in the room that starts at 7pm, the best and freshest breakfast we had in Peru, the staff is also very kind. The bed was also comfortable. All good. We even canceled another hotel in Cusco just to be back at Mallqui because it offered exactly all we needed. I warmly recommend it.
