Quite possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed in....

I cannot think of a single thing to fault for this hotel other than maybe being too perfect that it makes everywhere else look bad. I stayed here for six nights over a two week period in July 2021. It's the perfect place to acclimate upon arrival in Cusco with a delicious breakfast included in the room price. The charming courtyard with firepits is the perfect place to hang out with a glass of wine from the bar while planning your journey. The rooms (I've stayed in three different ones) are charming and evocative of the local culture. Location is excellent with some great restaurants nearby.

Yet, what sets the hotel above all others that I have stayed in is the level of customer service. The staff here will go out of their way to help you without being overbearing. They held my luggage for me while I went on two four-day treks (Salkantay and Inca Trail), providing me with a scale to weigh the duffel bags that I had to take with me on the treks. They arranged both airport pickup and dropoff at extremely reasonable prices. They organized laundry service for me between my two hikes. They also scheduled a COVID test on their premise so that I could return to the U.S. The restaurant staff was so friendly and accommodating of all of my requests. Top-notch housekeeping...the filtered water available in your room and in the courtyard...power outlets compatible with U.S. devices (and I think European ones as well). They did all of this while smiling behind their masks.

I repeat: do not consider staying anywhere else in Cusco. For what you pay, you get so much more out of it. You will not regret this. You won't want to leave. I would honestly come back to Cusco just to stay in this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and their menu and food is outstanding. We only had a couple of issues. I had booked online (hotel website) but when we arrived, they thought we only booked for 2 people instead of 3 (2 people in one room, 1 person in the 2nd room). They wanted to charge us more but I had my printout of exactly what I had booked (2 rooms, 3 people) and the price that I was guaranteed. After some back and forth, they made good on what I had booked via their hotel. The other issue was that our rooms were below ground level and were cold. If I had know better, I would have asked for a first or second story room (I don't believe there was any option for this when booking online). I have to say that they did give us a discount for the difficulty we had with the heat. A lovely touch is that they bring around hot tea at night and water bottles. If you are not in the room, they place the hot water bottles under your sheets!

I just want start off by saying that I’ve never reviewed a hotel before but I felt like I had to write one because this one blew me away. This hotel is an Instagrammers paradise. It is so gorgeous and chic. Aside from the look, I think what makes this hotel stand out is the service, cleanliness, and overall attention to detail in their customer service. I have never seen a hotel staff work so hard to ensure our stay was comfortable.

The food at the restaurant was delicious and I enjoyed the included breakfast every morning which was the full restaurant breakfast menu.

The room was gorgeous and super super clean. The rooms included several nice, soft touches like two soft alpaca blankets and a cute wooden bench in the bathroom for a vanity station. Also, side note, the showers have amazing water pressure and the hot water is available immediately. Once you enter the room you can literally hear a little waterfall outside your room which is so relaxing. The free wifi was secure and high speed which made my life easier for catching up on emails, streaming movies, or posting to social media.

The location is perfect. It’s quietly tucked away in the artistic district of Cusco and felt extremely safe, which is something that really matters to me. In addition, you could also walk 3- 5 min and be in the plaza de armas (main square).

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be coming back next time I’m in Cusco. You just can’t beat the price, location, quality of service, and beauty of the hotel.

Antigua Casona San Blas was a fantastic choice for staying in Cusco. The hotel is beautiful and clean and upscale and charming. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, there is a large, covered outdoor dining area just off the lobby and there is 24/7 cool filtered water available in the lobby. The hotel is very close to the central area of Cusco. I highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed here for 3 nights and after our first night we came back to our hotel room not cleaned. I made a complaint to Mario at the front desk and he was quick to handle it and apologized for the mistake. He ensured our stay to go smooth from now onwards and I really appreciated that. The rest of the staffs were also very friendly the moment you walked in you felt welcome.

The small details in the room really makes it stand out like the filtered water they provide to every room and also a rag to clean our boots and jacket after a long hike. The breakfast was also delicious and they even packed breakfast because we had to leave early for a tour the next day.

Thanks again, Mario

The staff were exceptional, they bring hot water bottles and tea everyday and the hotel enables you to do free yoga on site and join in the classes. The breakfast was incredible and they have free filtered water available before you head out too. A true gem and would definitely go back- recommend to all!

The hotel itself is very nice and has been renovated to a high quality (there are photos of the renovation in the restaurant). We stayed twice in two different rooms, both of which were very clean, spacious and very comfortable. The staff in the restaurant and at the front desk were all very friendly and helpful throughout our stays. I would be very happy to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Cusco.

The location is nice and in quiet area, but is just a short walk away from the central plaza. There are a number of restaurants and coffee shops in the streets around.

The small touches added a huge amount to the stay. The late afternoon tea, the filtered water in the room, and the hot water bottles at night made the stay very pleasant. We were also able to leave our bags in the hotel for three nights while we were away on a trek which was very helpful. They were kind enough to give us a complementary upgrade for our honeymoon which was extremely nice of them.

This property in the heart of San Blas, Cusco, was beyond exceptional! We LOVED everything! From the moment we were welcomed into Casona Antigua by their amazing staff, we were transported almost to a different world. With its elaborate details and ornate doors, open terraces with fire pits inside, incredible bar room, and wonderful restaurant. The whole place screams luxury and we LOVED it! Their attention to detail won us over! When we arrived, we had hot water bottles in our sheets, hot tea with glass cups by our bedside, and even towel warmers in the bathroom.

Our travel agent recommended this beautiful hotel and it didn't disappoint! I was traveling with a friend and when our host escorted us to our room and opened the door, my first reaction was, "um, we requested two double beds." He then pointed to the stairs to the loft. Perfect! The loft upstairs had a double bed with a king-sized bed on the main floor. We really appreciated the extra privacy this afforded us. It would be perfect for a small family as well with the kids upstairs and mom & dad below.
The hotel also has a reverse osmosis system with "100% guaranteed" safe, fresh drinking water. There's even a spigot inside the front entrance to fill your water bottle before venturing out for the day. Breakfast in the hotel's dining room was wonderful with the best coffee we had our entire time in Peru!

Antigua Casona San Blas is a very friendly, comfortable and attractive boutique hotel in the heart of historic Cusco. There are much cheaper places to stay in Cusco but if you want a comfortable and relaxing stay, this would take some beating. We were undertaking a trek to Machu Picchu, so we wanted a few days of comfort and being pampered so this was a perfect place to stay before and after the trek. The on-site restaurant is also recommended (as is the bar that serves pretty good pisco sours!).

Hi, are any of the rooms here oxygenated and/or does the hotel offer oxygen at the front desk?
Answer from Avnish S

My wife required oxygen during our trip but I did not and I never once felt breathless in spite of being 58 and hiking a lot. I guess it is the luck of the draw. Whenever my wife needed oxygen this was made available to her and in fact administered to her in a timely manner.
