Definitely not worth the price because: ...it’s further from town than expected (20 min walk) and there is not much around along the way. ...when we visited, Ana was not around and our room was no better taken care of than a cheap hostel. ...breakfast was a lot of bread without eggs and we had to hint for it to be made available. ...the guesthouse felt like a ghost town as we rarely found anyone around even for checkout, when our tour phoned early in the morning, it was picked up but no one bothered to come out and see us out. ...there are hotels in downtown Arequipa just $10-20 more, which is definitely worth it to enjoy the city better and feel more at home.
This hotel had everything we wanted - super friendly and helpful staff, beautiful location, comfortable bed, easy walk to the centre. Plus the bonus of a wonderful roof top breakfast with coca tea. Gracias!
We stayed there 3 nights. The room was clean and confortable. There is no heating in the room, but it was OK with the blankets, we were not cold. There is hot water in the shower and good wifi. The house itself is very pleasant, there is a courtyard with chairs and a small kitchen that you can use (we had a quiet dinner there after buying take-out in the city center). The breakfast was especially good, with home-made juice, eggs, fruits, bread, mate de coca or coffee. The staff was very attentive and helpful, they answered all of our requests. They also got up very early on our last day to cook us breakfast before we left for Colca Canyon at 6am. The b&b is not in the city center, but it is not a problem, there are grocery shops and restaurants nearby for dinner, the area feels safe and it is a short walk to the Plaza de Armas through scenic narrow streets (15 min).…
We stayed there for two nights and it was absolutely lovely. Our room was pretty, clean and even though we slept on the side of the street it was mostly quiet. The breakfast was delicious and more than enough. The hotel owners are very attentive and friendly. I once got sick and the older lady of the hotel gave me medicine and even asked me the next day how I felt. The even would have let me stay longer than the usual check out hours with no additional costs. It's about 15-20 minutes away from the plaza de armas and in a really beautiful tiny street. So we can recommend it whole heartedly.
We had such a good time at La Casa de Ana! The room was clean, quiet, hot showers, comfy bed. The breakfast was very generous and taken on the upper patio with a perfect view of the surrounding volcanoes. That patio has great lounging furniture too. The location is great, in the really cool funky neighbourhood of Yanahuara, on a quiet street, but only 15 mns walk to Arequipa main plaza. But the best part? The staff! I was actually sick for 2 days, and they took care of me like family. The owner’s mother even made me home-made chicken soup to help my stomach (I had a bad stomach infection). Then they made my wife a cake because it was her birthday! Everybody was so adorable and helpful, it was actually hard to leave! Thank you Casa de Ana!
Lovely place, especially breakfast on the terrace, overlooking the volcanoes. Arequipa easily accessible by foot but taxi drivers found it hard to find and there was not much nearby. Advertised as bi-lingual but only Spanish, while we were there.
Situated within (short) walking distance from the city's downtown, offers big, clean rooms and a very friendly staff. Room a bit chilly, but heating in Peru during winter is generally improvable. Breakfast on a nice terrace with spectacular views to the volcano. Tours and activities also organized.
This is a lovely, secure and modern guest house in the residential Yanahuara District of Arequipa. It's a quiet location around a 15-minute walk from the centre of town (Plaza De Armas), and on reflection is a great location to stay, not least because Yanahuara itself is great. This is more of a guest house than a hotel, and one element that particularly stands out is the quality of the breakfast, which was the best I experienced in Peru. Not so much here the stale bread and cold cuts of meat so common with other places to stay, but rather fresh bread and avocado and other specialties ate directly in view of El Misti Volcano on the rooftop terrace! As well as the comfort of the rooms, another reason to stay here is delightful Sony who works here, and who speaks the best English in town and generally oversees reception. She is very accommodating and made everything very easy about the stay, including all the taxi transfers. This is a great place to stay - highly recommended!…
This fabulous hotel is a 15 minute taxi ride from the bus station (15 soles) It has everything I could want from a hotel: Comfortable bed. Comfortable pillow. Exceptionally clean. Hot water (sink and shower). Clean towels. Abundant toilet paper. Quiet location. Fabulous views from the roof terrace. Very warm welcome. Friendly and helpful staff. Use of the kitchen. Free hot water, tea coffee all day. Beautiful views of Vulcano Misti and Pichu Pichu from the roof terrace where you eat breakfast. Laundry service 20 soles per load. They are dried in the sun, so less impact on the environment and kinder on your clothes too. 2km walk to the main plaza. Very good breakfast: Bread, vegetable empanada, eggs, fresh fruit, freshly made fruit juice, tea/coffee/piping hot water. Highly recommended.…
Would definitely recommend this hotel. Very good service and help with everything from tours and laundry(do it yourself or serviced) to restaurant and sightseeing tips. Fabulous roof terrace with tables and great views of the city and surroundings. Breakfast was some of the best we had in Peru. There is access to a kitchen if you want. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and well decorated. Very good value for money.
