The Palla Boutique hotel is strongly recommended!! The staff was very friendly and professional, the rooms were super charming, quiet and clean. The rooftop terrace is a great place to relax and to enjoy the nice view over Arequipa and the Misti volcano. The location is perfect just a few minutes from Plaza de Armas. The breakfast buffet was truly the best we had within two weeks.

The hotel is well located, about three blocks from the Plaza de Armas. Walking distance from the main sightseeing attractions. It has a cool terrace to have breakfast and hang out, with an amazing view of the volcanoes. The building is nice. Rooms are relatively small but recently renovated amd very cozy. Bed super comfortable, nice bathrooms. We got an upgrade and our king size room also had a private terrace. Breakfast is included and is very good. Internet works well. The only thing I did not like was the service. Staff at check in/check out do not seem to be happy and we did not feel welcomed. Also, at the time of reservation, the hotel offered a taxi service to pick us up at the airport. We booked it, but it never arrived. When we got to the hotel they did not even apologize. Anyway, I hope management does something about it because other than that it was a great experience.

I stayed in a Comfort King room with a baby. The room was spacious, clean and modern. And the cot I requested for the baby was ready, with sheets and blankets. The staff were just exceptional, going out of their way to help us with every request. They were so friendly and happy to help and it really made a difference to our stay, so thank you very much. The rooftop terrace is lovely in the morning, and the breakfast spread was quite impressive: a nice buffet with lots of fruit, cheese, ham, bacon, selection of bread, scrambled eggs, Peruvian dishes and more. They also did eggs to order like fried eggs, omelettes etc. and again were really great with special requests.

We looked high and low for a nice place to stay in Arequipa, and Palla Boutique Hotel seemed to come out on top. Unfortunately I had much higher expectations for this hotel, but it’s just a normal 3* hotel with a pretty view from the rooftop. The room was rather basic and overlooked a car park with construction noise starting early at 7am. The breakfast that many reviewers rave about was no where to be seen. I agree the rooftop view where breakfast is served is pleasant, but the two staff in the kitchen couldn’t keep up replenishing the food and coffee. The food quality is basic. The takeaway breakfast on the last day was so bad we decided to give it back to the reception desk. We had a Suite with an external view, but many of the rooms are internally facing, with curtains blocking the view to the corridor. Tip: if you are a backpacker and want some ‘luxury’ then definitely stay here, but if you are used to higher quality accommodation (4 or 5* hotels), then maybe look elsewhere.

We stayed 9 nights in the Palla suite. There’s only one suite like this. It has two spacious, light filled rooms each with doors and windows to a private balcony and great views of the mountains. The bed was enormous and perfectly firm. The living room had a sofa and table plus a kettle and a fridge. With decent Wifi in the room I was able to get some work done as well as enjoy a luxurious haven after the bustle of Arequipa’s streets. The breakfasts were delicious, with an array of fresh fruits and cooked food. Admittedly, you can hear cars on the cobbled street two floors below but it didn’t hurt my sleep (except in very quiet places I always wear ear plugs at night). The staff were considerate and helpful. A book about Arequipa in the lobby explains how alleyways in this area were restored in 2010. This hotel was finished in 2016, bringing tourism to an area that was formerly dilapidated. A new classy restaurant, Lameur, has opened a few doors away. Thus we enjoyed the neighborhood as well as the hotel.
