My friend and I spent 3 nights at this gorgeous hotel. The owners made us feel welcome right from the first first moment. They went above and beyond any expectation of ours! The property was well maintained with a very relaxed atmosphere and the room very comfortable and spacious. We were surprised to find out that they had a restaurant...

Family owned run by a Dutch/Peruvian couple. Rooms are large and comfortable albeit without any heating (which might cause inconvenience during winter months). Well equipped, modern bathrooms (no bathtubs). Nice breakfast with fresh fruit juices. Quiet, good bedding. Inconvenient location for sightseeing: Trips to/from the centre require taxi drives (around 4-6 soles). Check your room rates: Might not tally between...

The photo is so appealing as are most of the reviews. The house is interesting and filled with many curiosities. The room in the main house was simple and clean with the hardest be I have ever experienced. The bathroom was adequate and the surrounding gardens were lovely. But the, and a big but for me was the night noise....

Posada el Castillo is a jewel in Arequipa, which I know so well, having stayed with the owners now for more than 6 years! I love returning to my regular room (either number 15 or 16 in the main house). I am always greeted with smile and happiness that can't be replaced in larger hotels. The home is a grand...

Nice building (also our rooms were strictly not part of it) but totally out of the way. Nice garden (pool in construction) So OK hotel if you are staying in Arequipa and want to relax and rest but not suitable for a short stay where you want to go and explore Arequipa city centre. it is a 25 min walk...

My family of 3 adults stayed here for 3 nights sandwiched in between a 2D/1N Colca Canyon tour. Reviewers who mentioned the walk to Plaza de Armas taking 10 minutes must be race walkers or 7 feet tall. 20 to 25 minutes would be more reasonable for the average person given it is a slightly uphill climb all the way...

We arrived here at 2am after a 13 hour coach trip, which was only supposed to last 8 hours! How immensely relieved we were to find ourselves in one of the most unique and beautiful hotels of our six week trip round South America. The staff were friendly and personable without being invasive, and the hotel was more like a...

The rooms were very spacious and clean. The grounds were very looked after. If you need to leave the hotel in the early hours, make sure you let the owners know as they lock everything up at night, which makes you feel very safe. The breakfast was fantastic, with a large variety of fresh fruits and homemade juices. The owners...

We had stayed here only one night unfortunately due to limited time and our room was in the main building with a lovely terrace overlooking the pool and garden, had high ceiling and very spacious. The bed was so comfortable we often mentioned about it during the next 5 days of staying at different hotels through out our trip. The...

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Posada el Castillo. The home is beautiful, comfortable, and filled with all sorts of beautiful curiosities. The rooms are well equipped - we had one with a balcony overlooking the immaculate gardens. It is well situated - about a 10 min walk to the city centre (or a very short and...

“All of the rooms are clean and wonderful. The rooms in the main house are my favorite, but there is a section that they built on later, and it has large rooms as well, some with jacuzzi baths. It is a matter of preference. Speaking Spanish in boutique hotels in Peru is a plus.”
