Stayed here for two nights on a recent G-Adventures tour of the Galapagos. Resort is very nice, tents are big and comfortable. Resort grounds are very beautiful with fruit trees and walking paths where you can see giant tortoises. Breakfast was included and featured eggs, fruit and toast. The washrooms are kind of small and do tend to feature some...

We did not stay here, but we did pay the $3 to visit. It was nice to walk around and see all the fruit trees, giant ceibo trees, nature and the tortoises. Nice place to kill an hour or so if you like plants :) The tents looked...interesting. Not sure I would ever be brave enough to rough it in...

If you are going to see La Cuerva Sucra, it may be worth visiting Campo Duro on the same trip. Campo Duro is approx 15 minutes taxi ride from Puerto Villamil. The entry fee is $3 per person. You walk around a large loop and can see some large tortoises as well as many types of fruit trees – bananas,...

Including a brilliant camp fire beneath the stars( organised with the help of staff) The camp is a private bus (or taxi) ride from the main town on Isabella. But it...

I spent an enjoyable night at Camp Duro, in a nice setting halfway up the volcano from Puerto Villamil, in the agricultural district of Isla Isabela (a $10 cab ride from town). The facilities are immaculate, and the restaurant is very attractive set beneath spreading mango trees. You do need to be prepared for tent camping, but my tent was...

So glad we stayed here. I was looking forward to tent camping my whole stay on the Galapagos and it didn't dissapoint. The food was very good, the service and staff were great. We helped do some clean up for the tortoises and got to visit them up close. The trails around the area were amazing to explore. We even...

At first, we weren't sure whether tent camping in the Galapagos' transition zone would be our cup of tea. We're so glad we did it! Our stay would have been incomplete without it. In fact, we like it so much that when a high-seas "orange alert" extended our stay on Isabela, we spent our extra nights there. The highlight of...
