#9 of 99 Specialty lodging in Cuenca
Mallki is the Kichwa word for “fruit tree”. Working with this idea, we’ve developed a hostel inspired by nature and its fruits. The hostel offers a calm, relaxing atmosphere. With a balcony to take in the breeze and a garden with fire-pit underneath, there's plenty of space to stretch out and take in the day. The rooms are simple and sensible, with several cozy nooks tucked around the hostel for curling up with a book. There's always someone to hang out with in the common rooms - especially our most crucial staff member, Vince the Old English Sheepdog, who's always overjoyed to make a new friend.Mallki's not just a place to rest your feet, however. We aim to feel like a family, so you feel at home. Our staff always has something up their sleeves, making every day an exciting experience – join us for homemade dinner; grab your camera and tour Cuenca’s most picturesque sites; explore local markets and museums; roam the city on one of our vintage bicycles; party with us on our themed bar-hops! Our activities change daily.

For the price, this can't be beat. Dorm beds were average, breakfast was tasty pancakes everyday with a banana. The manager, Andrés is extremely knowledgeable and helped plan my visit. His staff are all super friendly and easy to chat with. The location is excellent and a 5

Nice hostel with friendly staff and good value. There are a few different options for rooms including private or dorm (as low as $7 and as high as $25 for private). They have 3 new kittens which are a lot of fun. Delicious free breakfast in the morning served with coffee or tea.
