A step back in time! This courtyard boutique hotel offers Colonia charm, superb dining and terrific service. We stayed in a suite, so can not comment on the standard room rooms. However, the suites offer true comfort and support. A beautiful oasis in the city.

This place is wonderful, The old centro de Cuenca has many historical sites and beautiful big houses. This hotel is built in one of them, located in the midst of all historical sites it has full service, quiet comfortable rooms, beds and bathrooms, great food and a cozy, warm athmosphere to match.

A friend and I recently stayed at Mansion Alcazar for a week. Everything--the room, gardens, restaurant, and especially the staff--was wonderful. We were attending language school in Cuenca and especially appreciated the patience and encouragement of the staff as we practiced our frequently incomprehensible Spanish! The hotel is beautiful and impeccably maintained, and very well located in the heart of...

We were looking for a restaurant open on Sunday in Cuenca and happened upon the Alcazar. We were welcomed into a beautiful garden setting in a cozy, glassed solarium - so elegant. The prices were moderate, but the service, food and presentation were top class. I could not recommend this hotel/restaurant more highly. We only had dinner here, we did not...

What an incredible meal, the ambiance, service and food was excellent. Our server was very attentive and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere was wonderful with a live performance coming from the lobby. The food was superb, presentation was excellent. This restaurant is a must when in Cuenca, by far the best fine dining establishment we have experienced in Cuenca.

What a jewel! The Mansion doesn't disappoint. Consistently wonderful service, amazing food and old world charm keeps me coming back time and time again. After a long day of sight seeing, have a seat in the garden with a cocktail, enjoying the flowers and watching the hummingbirds.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in January 2017, while visiting Cuenca for the first time. The hotel buildings are filled with beautiful antiques and lots of comfortable sitting areas. The garden was a delight, filled with flowers and trees, tables & chairs to enjoy morning coffee in the sun. The staff were exceptionally professional, always available for...

If you are looking for a hotel that has class, excellent food, amazing staff and superior service, Mansion Alcazar is it. I've stayed at most hotels in Cuenca and they are fine, but Mansion Alcazar knows how to do everything right, in my humble opinion. I've been traveling for 30 years and it is rare when I can find a...

To be clear: this is a very well managed hotel. It is housed in a historic building with an aristocratic flair. The place is filled filled with all kinds of antiques which may need some dusting off once in awhile. I am sure that many patrons love to stay in a museum-like atmosphere. My own personal feeling was that a...
