My friend and I had a last minute trip to Cuenca. Our original option for a hotel was not viable (the hotel was not there anymore because of COVID). We wandered around downtown until we came across this option. There was no question we were going to stay here once we entered the lobby. Immaculately clean. The desk clerk was amazing. Since we were in Cuenca, we asked for a room with a view. We ended up staying on the second floor with a balcony facing the street. This room was beautiful. It had three beds -- one on the main floor and two up in an overlooking loft. After a short respite, my friend and I wanted to go for a drink. The desk clerk had already checked around and made a recommendation for a bar down the street. It was great. I will definitely stay here again if I ever end up in Cuenca.…
in the very center of Cuenca. great location as you have walking distance to all sights. the building in it self is historical and well worth a visit in its own rights. the price only 50 $ per person. the restaurant however was closed. only breakfast available.
We spent only one night in this hotel and we were very happy about our choice. The hotel is very fascinating with a quite good breakfast, beautiful rooms and very attractive patio. Another big adavantage it's the location really in the old centre of Cuenca.
It's close to the Churches and not to far to get back to this comfort of this Hotel. It's a very nice place to stay but not for a family on a budget. The cost for March 2020 is 75$ a night and rooms are out if this world.
Don’t make the same mistake I did. If you visit this hotel, please make sure you use the available safe in your room, and don’t leave any valuables in your luggage or anywhere else in your room. I stupidly left some cash in a sealed envelope, in a closed bag, in our locked room, as we went out to meet some friends. When we came back, our room had been cleaned and our beds made. I noticed right away that one of the zippers on my bag was only partially closed. When I went over to inspect, I saw that another zipper had been disturbed as well. I opened the bag and saw that it had been rummaged through. The envelope with the money was gone. I take full responsibility for not using the safe. A stupid mistake. However, when we reported the theft to hotel management, they refused to acknowledge that they have a problem. They first insinuated that I was lying, then pointed to the comprehensive waiver I’d signed when we checked in. Tip: Read the fine print, I didn’t. An apology from the hotel would have gone a long way. We never got one, instead we were subjected to stonewalling and finger pointing. Needless to say, we will not return.…
