Service and Restaurant, the breakfast is amazing, so many things to choose, Christian and his team give us the best service! 5 stars! I will come back soon! Rooms very nice and clean. Great location, 10 minutes from historic center, which is great.
After a stressful drive from Guayaquil, we arrived to friendly, welcoming staff, delicious snacks, and hot tea. In our room there was a personalized card from the general manager and a beautiful spread of desserts. The hotel also went out of their way to accommodate a playpen and blanket for our 7 month old which she surprisingly slept amazingly in every night. We were able to see the river from our window which was very peaceful. The hotel is very quiet and relaxing. Although it was a short trip, we truly enjoyed our stay at Oro Verde Cuenca and are already planning our return!
Nice hotel and staff. Comfortable rooms. They offered a high tea for dinner at the time I stayed, so I took advantage of it. Only problem I saw with the hotel, when returning for the evening, the keys did not work and and I needed to go back to reception to have access back to the room (for the nights I stayed there)
Spent two nights here after switching hotels from the noisy and disorganized Wyndham Tryp. The Oro Verde staff were professional, friendly, and efficient. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. About a 8-10 minute taxi ride from the city center. We would stay here again in the future.
Pros: - Excellent service at reception (best care and support for changing a hotel booking in another hotel) - Good breakfast choice and quality (sensational omelette) - Very quiet with all guest rooms towards the river side Cons: - “bottleneck” in the toilet (even for a 5 star hotel) - Gym was already closed on Sunday early afternoon (also very poor equipment)
Very friendly, attentive, helpful and well-trained staff. Out of town, but the taxi ride only costs about $3 to the historic center and the location allows for a lovely swimming pool, adjacency to the river and walking/running path. The hotel also provides guests with access to a health club, right next to the hotel. Restaurant is great too. Again, the staff are just very nice and comfortable..
The room is quite okay! Same for the hotel in general: entrance, swimming pool... People working here (at reception, restaurant...) are all very helpful. But I was very disappointed by the dinner we had at the restaurant. I ordered the filled portobello, and just got some quinoa with half a plate of normal mushrooms in some tomato sauce. What a pity!
Just exceptional! Upgraded facilities, amazing room, impressive food, add to an amazing experience in a gorgeous city. But it is the staff that make this experience unique. Kuddos and thank you for such an amazing experience! I will be back soon.
Overall, a good experience for the price point. We would certainly stay again. Very pleasant hotel which is very quiet. Lobby entrance has a warm, inviting feel. There’s a lovely piano bar area although not sure when this is open or used. Common areas and rooms are clean, well-appointed and very well-maintained. The suite we enjoyed was spacious if a little Spartan - couple of wall decorations or accent pillows would really add a great impact while still keeping with the minimalist appearance. The towels are a bit old for the level of hotel however we assumed the pandemic downturn was causing updates to be delayed. The staff are generally helpful and most are very cheerful. We had a young waiter in the restaurant who also worked in the deli and he was top notch. A few oddities brought the score down and, to us, indicates the hotel is above mid point but not at the upper levels. The bar area has a very crisp new looking menu with a great selection of wines, sparkling wines and champagne. However, NONE are available - there’s house wines and some Cavas (albeit no listing available) as well as Spumante (again, no listing). The restaurant also does not quite make the grade. Very cafeteria like, it comes in to its own for breakfast. At dinner time, however, it feels like an airport hangar. Service is slow and the floor manager appears very worried and under stress at all times. There is seemingly only one printed menu which is just on regular paper and much the worse for wear. It’s another document that should not be taken at face value as it also lists unavailable items. Front desk and restaurant/room service are very siloed and do not readily cross-serve.…
Amazing service! Our go to hotel in Cuenca. Very friendly and professional personnel. Natalia treated us very nicely. Excellent breakfast buffet full of delicious Ecuadorian food! Will definitely go back no doubt! Very easy to get around! Rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable!
