This place was loaded with charm. The old wood floors were special. The room was good size as was the bathroom. There is no air conditioning so it could get a bit warm in there during the day and opening the windows cooled things off well at night but we were right off the street so it was noisy at...

Loved our stay. Staff was incredibly helpful and patient. Located in perfect location to walk to most everything and great restaurants. Traffic is heavy in area so expect it to take awhile to arrive. But once there you can easily walk and explore. Rooms are comfortable, hot shower, breakfast. But staff went out of their way to give us a...

This is the second time I've stayed at Casa San Rafael. I was as happy on this visit. The inn has a terrific location. Walking distance to everything in colonial Cuenca. The inn is well appointed and quite charming. The staff is hospitable and willing to accommodate all reasonable requests. The beds are very comfortable. Really the only recommendation is...

Beautiful hotel, free validated parking a couple blocks away. Friendliest staff, offered to help with luggage from our car. Spoke English and Spanish. Security at the hotel was nice; locked front door only opened by staff. Free breakfast was delicious (choice of eggs-fried or scrambled, yogurt with granola and fruit, coffee, juice of the day, and choice of bread-traditional or...

I ll leave the following details to sustain the 3 points overall rating: 4● : authenticity of the place, quality & stability of the wufi, security at the entrance door, breakfast quality and well served 3●: room size (207) was very small with no windows but that was that or the 304 which has bigger space but cold as Alaska....

We were looking for a nicer and calmer place to stay than the BnB we already knew. On Tripadvisor we found la Casa San Rafael and booked it - due to the very good rating. We were not really disappointed, but thought that price and service are not really balanced. The room was nice, rather small, the bathroom was very...

We came to celebrate Carnival. We found this hotel thru Trip Advisor. It is located at a restaured antique house. It is close to everything you would like to see. Walking thru the Calle Larga and strolling at the Barranco with the sound of the waters od the river. They have a station where you could drink coffee during the...

The location is great, just 2-3 blocks from the main square and cathedral. It's a "baroque" boutique hotel, but the price does not goes above average. The breakfast has a bit of everything, they cook eggs however you prefer them on the fly, and has free flow of coffee. The rooms are comfy. The windows face the street, but nights...

Beautifully restored colonial building, a large airy room with balcony views onto street life below, large open fireplace on second floor, local sweet and buttery, brioche-like bread for breakfast, convenient location in the center of the old town, excellent service, very good price. Couldn't ask for any more, and would come here again and again and again. Stayed for 4...
