I had no reservation and I was lucky they had available rooms. The rooms are spacious, with upper level two beds. There is Internet, Wi-Fi, hot water (no suicidal shower!), clean sheets, iniside the property parking and good company.
The owners are very friendly and helpful. They provided me with valuable insights. I really enjoyed chatting with them.
This Rancho is attached to a water park which is opened during the week-ends.
Because I stayed two days, I asked if I could have the breakfast included, which was fine.

My husband and I went to Rancho Alegre on Feb 14 until Feb 17 and it was the best decision. First I would like to say thanks to Mr Roberto for all his service, he is a very kind and funny man also he is very polite man. Second, the place is beautiful, the room is very confy , and warm. I love all the space specially the pink tree just by the entrance beautiful.
In San Antonio you can visit many places ,of course the middle of the world is really near.
Definately I will book Rancho Alegre if you want to stay away of the noisy city, and excelent place to stay, I really recoment this place you will not regreat it.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the rancho and the long talks with Roberto. We solved most of the world's problems during breakfast. Thank you also for all support and help during my stay in your lovely country.

Most people stay in Quito and only make a daytrip to the monument that marks the Middle of the World. However, what people don't know is that there is so much more to do in and around San Antonio de Pichincha. It is definitely worth it to stay a few days in San Antonio itself.

If, like me, you are looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of Quito, where you will find beautiful nature and tranquility, I'd recommend you'd stay at Rancho Alegre.

The friendly owner, Roberto, will welcome you as a member of the family. The Rancho has pools and sauna facilities for you to pamper yourself. If you travel with kids, this is the perfect place for you to relax and for them to play as the Rancho has ample space and facilities for the youngsters to roam around and entertain themselves.

The rooms in the hosteria are very charming. Perhaps a little on the dark side, but that only adds to the warmth and coziness of it all.

In my days at the Rancho I visited not only the Equatorial Monument, but also the In Situ Inti Ñan Museum, Pululahua Crater and its Geobotanical reserve, Ruins of Rumicucho, Village of Calacalí, the market of Otavalo and I went for a horseback ride to the Cate Quilla Hill.

You are still very close to Quito, which is just a 30 minute ride away, but at the same time you are also in the perfect spot to explore North Ecuador and visit the famous market of Otavalo.

In short, it's worthwhile spending a few days at Rancho Alegre in San Antonio, not only is it the perfect base to explore the area, but also for the nature and peace.
