We stayed here five comfortable nights. The hotel is situated walking distance from a bakery and restaurants. The breakfasts were good with eggs, croissants, and a wide variety of fresh fruit. The staff members were really helpful. They let us take our coffee to our room. Gorgeous views too!!

Nice basic hotel with a good view from some rooms and the breakfast area I stayed a few nights here in November. I had some problems with the hot water but the staff did their best to arrange the situation. All in all, OK hotel for the price.

The hotel is far from downtown, but in a safe area and it has wonderful view. Staff is friendly, but there were no English speakers. Translater software is useful.
Rooms were nice, comfortable and very clean. It is cold during the night, ask for a second planket. Electrical sockets, taps etc were working correctly and rhe wi-fi was excellent.

I gave three star, but 3.5 would have been more accurate. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a great view of Quito. It's tucked away in a good, somewhat upscale neighborhood. It's extremely hilly here, so be prepared to walk up and down very steep hills if you plan to walk anywhere. The beds were comfy and the room was very clean. The bathrooms were updated with nice finishes and fixtures. The staff didn't speak English, so we missed the quirky instructions for how to get hot water out of the shower. The lighting is unpleasant (if you like reading or lower light), and the bedding is dated. The dining room is beautiful but our breakfast was not among the best we've had (eggs were overcooked, bread was not tasty, and coffee was not great-- but there was fresh fruit and juice). It's a very good value and great location, with some tradeoffs.

The first room they put me in was very small and the bed was moist and smelly and was without a view. The second room was better, it had a nice view and the bed was better. Maybe they put me in the first room because I was going to be staying there for so long and they wanted to preserve the good rooms for short term customers (not a good way to do business). Almost every day after my room was cleaned they would take the dirty towels and I had to wait sometimes hours for clean ones. Leave the towels alone until the clean ones are ready. The breakfast was not too bad but they should add oatmeal. The location is fine for me because I like to walk long distances but if you want to be close to everything then this is not the hotel for you. Not much more to say about this place except the staff are good, they try to please you.

Thank you for staying with us 26 days; If your stay was for so many days it is because something we are doing well. The first room we offered was one that faces the garden, which are the most requested because they are quiet and in the morning you can enjoy and relax watching the hummingbirds who visit us. We are always improving to give you a better service.

So, this was a learning experience for me. If you have money, go for a comfy expensive hotel. but if you dont, why would you even stay at hotels like this?? I stayed for two weeks and was terrible. First of all, it felt like they were doing me a favor by letting me stay -.- no one speaks a word of english, and when I try to communicate in spanish using dictionary, they dont even try to help. they lock the door whenever they feel like not being in the lobby so you might have to get help to get out of the hotel (or when coming back in at 4 pm and it's locked). Felt like a prison with curfew. also no visitors allowed. so you cant invite a hook up.
Then obviously it's freezing at night and there's no heat. Seriously, it was like 50-55F (10-12C) at night outside coz Quito is in the mountains. But how can you not have heat in that weather?? I had to wear a tshirt a sweater a hoodie and get under two covers for two weeks.
And when I read reviews before, they said it's on a hill but I am thinking "i'm young and healthy, it'll be fine" NOOOPE loong and steeeeep hill. you sweat your life off and have trouble breathing just to go back. Oh, and you have dead mosquitos on the walls. people smush them to kill it and no one cleans it. so if you see brown smudges, those are dead insects, just so you know.

Anything positive? the wifi was pretty fast.

All in all, why pay $40 per night when you can get english-speaking people to host you for half that on airbnb??? Cheap hotels like this need to disappear.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us. We always try to make our customers feel the best they can. I do not understand, if you did not like the hotel why you did not request the change, we can not stop customers against your will. The door of the hotel is closed for security from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. but there is always a person at the front desk to open and close the door for people who enter at dawn inclusive. Our mission is to make all our clients come back. Fabio Cadena Lucero. OWNER MANAGER

We stayed one night between birding trips to the west and east sides of Quito.

I had some problems booking, with the hotel and booking company blaming each other for my credit card being rejected. (I had no problems with using it for multiple bookings elsewhere). However I rebooked with a different provider, pre-paid and had no further issue.

Our room, with twin beds, was quite small and clean; we needed to wait as long as 15 minutes for hot water to come through in the shower. Its location was not ideal, being next to washing machines /driers which were on until mid-evening and with the windows right next to low level steps where people can walk by. Hardly the mountain / city view promised but it didn't actually cause a problem. Contrary to the details provided at booking, there was no drinking water nor safe provided in the room.No towels were available until the had finished putting them through the drier.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and Pablo seemed to be constantly running around doing everything!

There are nice city views from the restaurant and a short walk (down the steep) hill brings you to some restaurants and shops.

We were provided with a packed breakfast, because we were leaving early. But unfortunately despite being assured one would be vegetarian, there was meat in the sandwiches.

Overall, whilst "average" is a bit harsh, and I think better rooms are available, given the issues mentioned, I couldn't score this "very good".

The hotel is nice with great views of the city. It is on a very steep hill but it is only a short walk down to Avenida 6 de Diciembre and Ave Gral. Eloy Alfaro where there are lots a shops/restaurants etc. I chose this hotel due to its proximity to Parque Metropolitano Guanguiltagua which is a sort of forest reserve with hiking trails. I arrived at the hotel at probably 1am or so to discover the hotel behind a locked gate. Fortunately the taxi driver knew there was a buzzer and summoned the front desk for me. I only stayed 2 nights in Quito but it appears the gate is locked outside of business hours (5pm to 9am?), but there was always someone there to open the door. The room is basic, clean and comfortable and wifi worked great. Every time I left the hotel I was asked if I needed a taxi. The staff was attentive, polite and accommodating. If/when I return to Quito I will stay here again.
