I was on vacation and my school picked this hotel. I stayed here for four nights. It's a nice hotel. The owners are great down to earth people. Its clean and well kept. I just recommend getting a room looking to the outside of the hotel not in because some rooms have a window looking at a wall in the...

I stayed at Hotel Sandmelis while traveling as a Spanish language educational group with 25 of my students and 4 other chaperones. Though the rooms were small and basic, they were clean and well-kept. The staff was very friendly and willing to answer any questions we had. The continental breakfast included eggs, a croissant with jam, and hot water or...

An extremely friendly staff combined with clean living conditions sums up Hotel Sandmelis. The breakfast is amazing and it is located near tons of restaurants and shops. I have stayed here several times and they only take away is that it can get loud at night because it is right off a main road, and also be warned that there...

We ended up at the Sandmelis after a different hotel didn't honor our reservation. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very nice. The hotel was very clean. The breakfasts were good. We'd definitely stay there again. We left Quito for a few days to visit another area and were able to leave our large luggage here...

My girlfriend and I visited from the U.S. for 4 nights and really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and the owner took us out to a local sandwich shop, "El Arbolito", which was absolutely delicious and even drove us to the convenience store to prepare for the rest of our travels. Being in Ecuador we...

We had been staying in old town previously, but we're getting tired of the commute from old town to airport for our excursions. So we thought we would try something new and found this hotel. Still quite far from airport but mostly freeway so a lot better than old town. We booked originally through booking.com which said the room was...

The Sandmelis fit my needs perfectly, but they were pretty specific. I was flying into Quito in the evening and planned to head to Otavalo first thing the next day. I wanted a hotel near the airport where I could leave my luggage the next day overnight while I was in Otavalo and reclaim it the following day upon my...

We were picked up at the airport by the manager who spoke very good English and the staff are friendly and helpful. The lobby is quaintly decorated, the room clean and modest. We had a very poor night's sleep between all the traffic noise and being cold as there is no heat in the room. The breakfast included in the...

I visited this hotel and was impressed with the staff who went out of their way to ensure everyone was comfortable and enjoying their stay. It's located close the airport in a safe neighborhood with plenty of access to private and public transportation. It was impeccably clean and breakfast was delicious as well! A great to stay in Quito!
