If we could give this 10 stars we would. This was by far the best hotel experience we had. The rooms are cozy and clean, and the view from the terrace is phenomenal. The place is like a Bed and Breakfast, with 6 rooms total, and a full breakfast spread with pastries, granola, fresh local fruit, and a freshly prepared “dish of the day” (cheese omelette and eggs Florentine while we were there).
Beyond the amazing space and amenities, the location is ideal for walking to the main squares in Quito and it’s a quick cab ride form other great sites.
The pièce do résistance was the concierge, Fernando. He attended to all the needs we had and even those we didn’t know we had! He helped us get around everywhere, suggested great spots, and called ahead to make reservations among others. He is a real gem and a kind-hearted person, plus he speak THREE languages (at least!). Five stars+ and we will definitely be coming back.

Room Tip: Best to take a taxi there from the airport. There is a bell to ring to be let in.

Villa Colona is a beautiful villa in the old town area of Quito.
It's like staying in someone's home. Our room was stunning, the staff were attentive, helpful and went above and beyond.
We stayed here for 48 hours at the beginning of December, prior to flying to Galapagos.
We arrived, after 24 hours travelling, around 8pm in the evening and there was home made soup waiting for us, despite the fact that this is a B&B only hotel. The one disappointment was that they do not have a license so there are no bar facilities.
There is a tea making station on the galleried landing and coffee to help yourself to in the kitchen. Breakfast was a buffet along with what ever you would like cooked fresh.
I had previously emailed the hotel asking about where to eat in the evening and they had offered to cook us dinner in the hotel on the Saturday night, however this didn't materialise as the manager was away. They did let us know in reasonable time, and were not only able to recommend a restaurant but escorted us to it that evening and helped us with getting back afterwards.
I can think of no bad points about Villa Colonna and would recommend it without hesitation. It's perfect for exploring Quito.

Great place to stay in Quito. Ideally located next to to colonial old town, but thats not why i would suggest to stay there.
Small, 6 rooms only boutique hotel decorated with a lot of taste according to the colonial style and extremely good service, very personal and very attentive (they even offer a local sim card upon your arrival to be used while your stay in Ecuador).
The other remarkable thing was breakfast.
Absolutely to choose if passing through Quito.

The hotel offers an outstanding personal experience in the heart of historic Quito. The hotel manager, Fernando, works to make all your arrangements during your stay creating a personal luxury experience that rivals five star hotel chains. The ornate rooms offer beauty and comfort essentuate the historical colonial period the hotel is modeled after. Once an old embassy the details from floor to ceiling captivate the eye every time you turn a corner. The stay is worth the price!

We stayed here 3 nights in December which was a rebooking from our canceled trip in march 2020. The owners Pascal and Debra could not have done more to make our stay truly memorable and were very understanding with the rebooking.
The villa is amazing and very convenient to all the sights!
The villa is amazing full of great art and beautiful objects of art. Highly recommend!

The Villa Colonna Quito is amazing and I could not have made a better choice for my 3 night stay in Quito. It is a 6 room boutique hotel located on Benalcazar, about 5 blocks from the Plaza Grande. The rooms are beautiful, large, and most have a sitting area. The whole place has been very tastefully renovated and decorated, with many special details. I felt like I was living in a comfortable, beautiful home along with museum quality artwork. The rooftop terrace is great. There is comfortable seating, with incredible views of the city. However, on top of all that, the staff is fantastic. Prior to my arrival I had excellent email communication with Antoine, and while I was staying at the hotel, the manager, Fernando was the best - super helpful and super kind. Breakfast was extensive and yummy. Also, I ate dinner at the hotel one night, where the chef, Vladimer, will prepare dinner for you. It was delicious, reasonable, convenient, and a great evening. Staying at Villa Colonna really added to my overall Quito experience as it is perfect in every way, and I cannot recommend highly enough.

Beautiful small low-key hotel near the centre. Big rooms off a pretty courtyard. Friendly service. Good breakfast. We really enjoyed it. Highly recommended if you want somewhere small and local as opposed to big hotel vibe. Great views from roof terrace.

We spent just 4 nights in this beautiful place. The decor is something that has to be seen to be believed. Breakfasts are fantastic. However , the real credit for making Villa Collonna work are the hosts, Rodrigo and Rodolfo. My husband and I encountered a problem on our first night at the hotel when one of our cases had been left in Madrid. These 2 wonderful men spent hours on the phone tracking it down and ensuring it was delivered to the hotel in time for our trip into the Amazon jungle. They took the pressure off us so we could enjoy our stay. If you ever have a chance to stay here - grab it with both hands as it is not going to be around for much longer.
