Beautiful hotel.. I love the Cuban designs. The rooms are small but still beautiful and worth every penny, which wasn't much. The hotel is in prime location to many restaurants and clubs. From the hotel to the equator was about 25 minutes in a taxi....More

Hi Steve, sorry if this is too late but I don't check tripadvisor regularly. It takes about 45 minutes from the airport to the hotel, maybe a little more in rush hour. We had transfers so I'm afraid I don't know the price. The safest way is as with the rest of the city to take an official cab with all the badges. That said, we used an unbadged taxi for another trip once and it was fine and in general we found the city safe - did quite a bit of walking at night to and from restaurants and bars. There were a few streets that looked dodgy but use commonsense and you should be fine.
